Jennifer Garner stopped by The Late Show With David Letterman yesterday before heading off to meet up with her costars at the NYC premiere of Arthur. She wore the same Oscar de la Renta dress for both appearances and shared a few laughs with Dave during her interview. She spoke about the experience of working with Russell who has a "nasty" sense of humor, but is big hearted, "sensitive," and "vulnerable" underneath. Jennifer described working on one intimate scene in particular, and what it was like getting up close and personal with his anatomy.

The cast of Arthur matched in muted hues at their NYC premiere last night. Jennifer wore Oscar de la Renta and was coming straight from Letterman while her girls enjoyed the California sunshine with Grandma Affleck. On the red carpet she talked about being nervous when filming atop a huge horse and says she hopes she doesn't disappoint fans when she takes on the role of Miss Marple — check out PopSugar Rush for more from Jennifer! Russell Brand revealed that there may not be truth to his Rock of Ages casting rumors, since he would like to be able to spend more time with wife Katy Perry. She couldn't join Russell for the premiere, though she did tweet her support from Scotland where she performed last night. Similar to his character, Russell told us falling in love made him grow up, but last night it was all about his female costars. He gushed about Helen Mirren, who, along with the rest of her costars including Greta Gerwig also got lots praise from director Jason Winer during Buzz's sit-down interview. Today Jennifer is stopping by Regis and Kelly as well as Late Night With Jimmy Fallon to promote their movie ahead of its Friday release.

Russell Brand has been sharing a great deal about his personal life in the run-up to the release of his new film, Arthur, on April 8. The movie features Russell playing the title role of a drunken playboy. It was a challenge for Russell, who's famously a recovered sex and heroin addict. He opened up to Elle magazine about the unique bizarreness of tackling such a part, letting fans know a little about what his life was like before recovery. He said:

  • On Dudley Moore's performance in the original Arthur: "He played drunk as sweet and affable. Really, alcohol in the film facilitates clowning. I was a very different kind of an alcoholic. I was much more an oaf, smashing stuff up and crying and causing problems."
  • On being in recovery and playing someone who's not: "It was very strange. I kept little plastic bottle of booze around the set that I'd smell before each take. That really helped me because I've got huge emotional resources to call upon."
  • On his past promiscuity: "A friend of mine once said, 'You are devoted to your lover, but she has a thousand faces . . . If she's not there, you must call her, for you have to see her . . . three, four times a day — making love with your lover of a thousand faces.' That's how he described my epic promiscuity."

    Hollywood remakes make me cringe more often than not, but this trailer for the new incarnation of Arthur is a pleasant surprise. Russell Brand stars as a more charming — and by all appearances, less alcoholic — version of Dudley Moore's classic character (he's not obnoxious as much as he's just immature). Arthur is the heir to a billion dollar fortune, but to pocket the cash, he has to marry Susan (Jennifer Garner). Since he doesn't love the psycho sex kitten, he sets out to stand on his own two feet with his nanny (Helen Mirren) in tow.

    The sweet relationship between Brand and Mirren is one of the things I love most about this preview, but I'm also excited to watch Garner do more broad comedy. I may be going out on a limb here, but could this be one of those rare cases where the remake is as good as the original? Take a look and share your thoughts when you read more

    Russell Brand and Greta Gerwig reunited to film reshoots for Arthur in Manhattan this weekend. A once more clean-shaven Russell scooped Greta into his lap for a smooch in his fancy car, but there was no sign of his Batman costume on this occasion. The costars spent last Summer shooting the movie. When they wrapped in September we got a first look at the film, which sees Russell in nearly nude scenes with Jennifer Garner and donning a disguise with Helen Mirren. Since then, Greta has been promoting No Strings Attached and Russell has been rounding out his big 2010 by being named your favourite British personality and favourite newlywed with Katy Perry. Earlier this month Russell performed stand-up gigs in LA, which will be part of the feature documentary he's working on for the big screen.

    Russell Brand and Katy Perry were spotted outside a hotel in Hollywood yesterday, after she picked him up from LAX on Wednesday. Last night, US TV show Entertainment Tonight aired a first glimpse at Russell's new movie Arthur, which wrapped earlier this week, with clips from the upcoming film and interviews with Russell, Helen Mirren and Greta Gerwig. When asked about Katy, Russell sidestepped the question saying he has shared a connection with Helen, but Greta said that Russell flew to see his fiancee whenever he could and that he's "so in love". Following news Katy's in talks with ITV2 about her own show, reports claim that Simon Cowell is also keen to sign her up for the US version of The X Factor for a reported paycheck of £220,000 per show.     Russell Brand was back on the streets of NYC yesterday, filming Arthur with Greta Gerwig and Helen Mirren. Following his car crash this week, Russell looked in good spirits as he chatted with his costars over a hot drink. He's got plans to stay close to Helen through his upcoming waxwork at Madame Tussauds, saying: "Now that I'm monogamous I want to live vicariously through wax Russell, I insist that he's placed next to wax Helen Mirren and I hope they melt into one sexy blob." Katy Perry will make Russell glad he's given up the single life for her, as she's planning to serenade him at their wedding with a love song she's written for him. While Russ is in the US his dad Ron has been partying with Amy Winehouse in London.
