Beverley Knight's nails caught the Paralympic spirit when she performed at the opening ceremony in London this week. Her gold talons were created by celebrity nail technician Loretta Fletcher of Bella Loretta, who says this gel overlay technique is proving popular:

"[I see] more and more girls wanting their natural nails overlayed, allowing the nails to grow with such strength and believe it or not it happens very quickly. It’s lovely converting people. The nail shapes are changing all the time, with stiletto and edge nails becoming more popular on celebrities, red carpet and catwalk."

Stars including Nicola Roberts, Alexa Chung and Jameela Jamil have been out at London Fashion Week over the last couple of days, as our capital started its turn as a stylish centre after NYFW came to a close on Thursday. Nicola Roberts showed off her long locks and a gorgeous LBD as she left the Bora Aksu show, where she met up with Keisha Buchanan and sat front row with Laura Whitmore. Alexa Chung attended the Charles Anastase Show this morning, looking chic as ever after hosting the Elle Style Awards earlier this week, and her old T4 colleague Jameela Jamil took to the decks after Jessie J performed at the launch of Vivienne Westwood's Get A Life Palladium jewellery collection last night. Glamour graced London last night when Sex and the City 2 premiered at Odeon Leicester Square. Sarah Jessica Parker wore an Alexander McQueen dress and Philip Treacy hat, making a statement with her headgear just like at the world premiere of the first movie. Cynthia Nixon was bold in blue and hair extensions, Kristin Davis sparkled in gold after wearing a sheer top to dinner the night before, and Kim Cattrall followed SJP's lead in black. Chris Noth was back on the red carpet after attending the NMAs, although Jason Lewis and John Corbett were in another city and couldn't repeat the manjoyment of the NYC premiere.

Lots of London-based stars took the opportunity to wear their gladrags. Kylie Minogue fooled around with Louie Spence on the red carpet before celebrating her 42nd birthday today. Newly pregnant Rachel Stevens looked cute in her short dress, while X Factor winner Alexandra Burke kept things simple in a LBD. Emma Bunton teamed her colourful dress with gorgeous purple shoes, and had a big smile on her face following news of her new TV role. Naomi Campbell put together a Fashion For Relief show in New York last week, and last night she brought it to Somerset House to kick off London Fashion Week! Raising money for the White Ribbon Alliance's work in Haiti, Naomi called up all her UK based friends including an emotional Kate Moss, Geri Halliwell, Kimberley Walsh, Nicola Roberts, Erin O'Connor and Beverley Knight to model in the fun fashion show.

James Corden and David Walliams stole the show with a passionate kiss at the end of the runway — check out the video under the jump — while Ronnie Corbett and Larry Lamb were favourites with the crowd, that included Bob Geldof, Sarah Brown and Sir Philip Green. Amanda Holden walked with glowing Denise Van Outen in their charity tees, and The Saturdays took to the catwalk en masse!

A whole host of reality show contestants came together last night for Cirque du Soleil's Varekai Gala at the Royal Albert Hall. The X Factor's Stacey Solomon and Lucie Jones looked gorgeous in their short dresses. BellaUK wants to know: do you love or hate Stacey's hair? It was also a Strictly Come Dancing reunion, with series six's runner-up and winner, Rachel Stevens and Tom Chambers, being joined by series five's Gethin Jones and his girlfriend Katherine Jenkins, who met when she sang on the show. Strictly's Craig Revel Horwood and former judge Arlene Phillips also enjoyed the circus acts, as did Gemma Arterton, George Takei, Matt Littler, Darren Jeffries, Beverley Knight, Joanna Lumley and Gary Rhodes.

Yesterday saw the end of London Fashion Week's womenswear shows and the front rows were full of celebs getting a last look at the Autumn 09 collections. Will Young seemed rather amused by House of Blue Eyes' raunchy clothes, with Alice Dellal almost unrecognisable on the catwalk. Peaches Geldof attended the Peter Pilotto show alongside Erin O'Connor, who had changed her outfit after the Ashley Isham show. Erin was joined in the front row by Beverley Knight and a pregnant Tess Daly, who looked gorgeous showing off her bump in blue.
