And now: your delightful Ryan Gosling video of the day! From Gosling saying "Hey girl" to performing with his band Dead Man's Bones, we soak up any little bits of the actor we can get, and this week Jimmy Kimmel gave his US audience a special treat. When Gosling stopped by Kimmel's show to talk about Blue Valentine, the host got him to whip out a ukulele like his character in the film and sing "You Always Hurt the One You Love" with him. Kimmel tries to hog the spotlight to hilarious effect, but come on — you can't steal the spotlight from Gosling. Watch now.
Last night Michelle Williams attended the New York Times Arts & Leisure Weekend, looking gorgeous in a black dress with her signature platinum crop. She posed with Times reporter David Itzkoff and musician Lang Lang before talking about her latest release and upcoming projects. She's still in the midst of promoting Blue Valentine at the moment — released in the UK on Jan. 14 — featuring on magazine covers while costar Ryan Gosling has been evasive about how close the pair are in reality. Before heading to the launch she was spotted out and about in snowy New York with a friend, keeping warm in a big coat. Buzz loved the movie, and so did I when I saw it at the London Film Festival.

Ryan Gosling got serious for an interview with the LA Times recently. He talked about the emotional inspiration for Blue Valentine and why he hasn't been out promoting his other new release, All Good Things. Ryan and Michelle Williams did make the rounds for their release in the US, showing off their amazing chemistry at every stop. Perhaps they'll even walk the Golden Globes red carpet together next month. Here are highlights:
- On acting and interviews: "I don't really like doing interviews because I don't have any answers about why I act. It's like a compulsion. It's people who eat and eat and eat and they don't know why and they keep getting fatter but they can't stop. It's like that . . . And then you find yourself on a set throwing yourself off a bridge, and you're asking yourself, 'Why am I doing this?' And I don't know."
- On promoting movies: "I try not to make too many movies. I get sick of myself, so I can imagine how everyone else feels. And for the two to come out at the same time, it makes me feel sick."
- On making independent movies: "When I make these movies, I don't think, 'I want to make a little indie movie and I want to stay in the indie world because I think it's cool. I make these movies and think, 'This is the one. This one is going to be "The Blair Witch Project."' I'm sure of it while we're making it. And then it comes out and it does no business. I just have this total fantasy that you can make a movie like 'Blue Valentine' and that it can be as big as 'Avatar.' That's my dream. I don't have kids or something else more important in my life right now so I keep hammering away at it. I haven't done it yet. But I think I'm getting closer."

Michelle Williams accented her Christian Dior dress with purple pumps at a screening of Blue Valentine in NYC last night. She's back on the East Coast after spending the weekend in LA, where she met up with best friend Busy Philipps for a playdate with their daughters Matilda and Birdie. Michelle enjoyed the quick break from promoting the film after weeks of walking red carpets and posing at events, but all her hard work has paid off with a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress. Her costar Ryan Gosling, who's looking hot on the January cover of GQ, was also nominated in the Best Actor category, adding to the list of exciting news for the cast following the MPAA's overturning their NC-17 rating.

Ryan Gosling and Michelle Williams, wearing an Azzaro mini-dress, gazed into each others eyes and greeted the crowd at a special Museum of Modern Art screening of Blue Valentine in NYC last night. The adorable twosome were joined by their onscreen daughter Faith Wladyka, who got to get glammed up with Ryan and Michelle in Cannes earlier this year, as well as their director Derek Cianfrance. The evening wasn't only for the cast, however, since Blake Lively was spotted quietly sneaking in to check out the film. The Gossip Girl star is no stranger to the city's red carpets, though this appearance will likely bring back up the rumors of a romance between her and Ryan. The two were spied on a Disneyland ice cream date earlier in the Fall, but at that point her rep said they were just friends. Since then, Blake split with Penn Badgley, while Gosling is still swinging single. He's been logging lots of time posing with Michelle Williams to promote their unexpectedly controversial love story and his eloquence about the NC-17 rating is one of the things that makes him so sexy.

Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling cosied up for a Blue Valentine screening in New York last night, after one in LA on Thursday night which Jake Gyllenhaal attended. He's now in Australia, but the movie's stars Ryan and Michelle caught up with their onscreen daughter and the film's director and producer at the screening hosted by Robert De Niro. Ryan has said that the decision made by the MPAA to rate the film NC-17 is misogynistic, and after seeing the film at the London Film Festival I definitely think this film deserves a wider audience than this very limiting rating would give it in the US. All involved in the project are campaigning to get this changed, and stars are showing support, including Robert, Jake and Kate Winslet.

Michelle Williams found herself in the enviable position of being between Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal at Thursday night's screening of Blue Valentine in LA. Jake sweetly played host for the event as Michelle's longtime close friend and he's also her daughter Matilda's godfather. Michelle is on the West Coast after toasting her film in NYC with Kate Winslet and in London with Dominic Cooper. Ryan has been holding down the promotional fort in California, and he recently participated in an Oscars hopefuls panel to chat about their movie. Michelle had her good friend Busy Philipps there as well, while Jake was rolling solo without his coffee mate Taylor Swift. Jake and Taylor were together in NYC over Thanksgiving, though, near his sister Maggie's place in Brooklyn. Maggie spoke about Jake and Taylor's budding romance at her own event yesterday, saying that spending the holiday with the lovebirds was "great."
