Hayley Atwell

As military woman Peggy Carter in Captain America, Hayley Atwell is much more of a heroine than a classic damsel in distress. We recently spoke with Hayley about taking on the role, which marked her first time working on a big-budget action movie, and what surprised her about Captain America himself, Chris Evans. Hayley talked about getting physical with Chris on set, helping to create her character's gorgeous World War II-era look, and whether Peggy might be making a return in The Avengers. The Super Bowl is usually rife with clever ads, but I also keep my eyes peeled for the new movie trailers. If you paid close attention during this year's commercial breaks, you probably caught a handful of spots for upcoming films, including a closer look at Captain America: The First Avenger.

Chris Evans plays Steve Rogers, a scrawny military hopeful who submits his body to a research project. After entering a special scientific chamber, he emerges with a six-pack that could put The Situation to shame. The preview also includes quick glimpses at Stanley Tucci, Tommy Lee Jones, Hugo Weaving (donning his grotesque makeup as Red Skull), and love interest Hayley Atwell. Last night, Harper's Bazaar magazine named their Women of the Year at a glam ceremony in London hosted by Mariella Frostrup. Aaron Johnson wore one of his favourite jackets to accompany Sam Taylor-Wood to the bash, and she took home one of the awards. Other winners included Emma Thompson, Florence Welch and Sarah Brown, and Bryan Ferry performed for a crowd which included Natalia Vodianova and Hayley Atwell.

After all the celebrities walked the red carpet at the GQ Men of the Year Awards last night, they headed inside for the ceremony. Breakthrough Talent winner Ed Westwick posed with Lily Allen, while Woman of the Year Gemma Arterton cosied up with Nicholas Hoult. Noel Gallagher congratulated Jason Statham on his Editor's Special Award, and Damon Albarn posed with Gorillaz's gong for Best Band. Martin Scorsese presented Giorgio Armani with his gong for Designer of the Year. Find out who else won an award.

Plenty of couples were celebrating too. International Male Jon Hamm sat with his girlfriend, Jennifer Westfeldt, while James Corden got a kiss from his girlfriend as he won the Comedian prize. Daisy Lowe chatted with her ex Mark Ronson and also posed proudly with her new man Matt Smith, who was named Actor of the Year. Most Stylish Man Aaron Johnson had Sam Taylor-Wood by his side at the ceremony.
