How would you wear it

Katie Holmes has been a one woman advert for denim this year using the New York side walk as her catwalk. She has pioneered the peg-leg look and has recently ventured in to bright coloured skinnies. Over the festive period the fashion show has continued but I can't help but feel that something isn't quite working with this ensemble. Maybe Katie is wearing too many items or attempting too many looks and it ends up being slightly overwhelming. The top half looks fine and then you realise that somewhere between the stirrup tights and heels something went horribly wrong. Do you have any style tips for Katie?

This brave ensemble that Mischa Barton wore over the weekend to the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust Gift of Life IX Fundraising Ball has left us divided here at Sugar UK HQ. Although Pop UK and I agree that the floaty dress is nice we're yet to agree on the headband. I like the luxe-hippy feel to the look but Pop UK isn't so sure. However, this becomes irrelevant when you realise that Mischa teamed this dress with heavy boots! I'm sorry Mischa but you leave me with little choice but to add you to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame! Do you have any advice for the actress?

Wow, well when I spotted these pictures of Natasha Bedingfield over at Pop UK I couldn't quite put in to words how odd her outfit is. The British singer who seems to spend more time in the USA than here was sporting knee high Dr Martens with leggings and a not quite long enough shirt. All of the components of this outfit could work but put together, I'm not so sure. Which leaves me no choice but to add Natasha to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame. So, how would you wear it?

WAG Alex Curran was out on the town last week in a monochrome ensemble. Now, WAG's aren't famous for making good fashion choices so maybe putting her in to the How would YOU Wear It hall of fame seems like a cheap shot. However, Alex has been quite stylish recently wearing a lemon yellow Roland Mouret dress to support her husband when he received his honorary degree. Whilst the separate pieces of this outfit are good, together they look very try-hard. She has an oversized clutch and gladiator heels but with rouched leggings? So I put it to you, how would YOU wear it?

In recent weeks I have generally been warming to Lily Allen. I think she makes a great blonde and although she's been sporting a lot of leisure wear she seems like she's happy and having fun. However, whilst both the latter are true in this outfit I can't let this one pass. She wore this outfit once last week and I turned a blind eye but now that she has worn it again (whilst out with Mark Ronson) I couldn't resist adding Lily to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame.

I know that jumpsuits are big news this season and that Lily isn't the first to wear one but I think she makes it look too much like a baby's romper suit by teaming it with a cutesy cardigan and trainers. I know that Rihanna is a fan of the jumpsuit but hers are smart and teamed with heels for a sleek silhouette. What do you think about Lily's ensemble, how would YOU wear it?

Victoria Beckham flew to London on Saturday, leaving her boys to have fun at the football. She's flying back to the UK for a good cause selling six Roberto Cavalli tour outfits to raise money for the Victoria and David Beckham Children's Charity. This charity provides kids with wheelchairs and other kit. Victoria explained, "I love all the outfits - for the memories they hold and for how beautiful they are. But there has been a lot of interest in them and I want to harness that for the charity."

All good deeds aside, I am not sure what she was thinking when she opted for these bright pink flares. Not only do they clash with her orange skin tone but they also leave Victoria looking like she wants to challenge Jordan in the Barbie lookalike stakes. I think that maybe they'd look better in a darker shade or maybe if they were skinny rather than flared. Unfortunately, this outfit marks Victoria's entry to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame. Please can you offer her some help?

Fergie attended Idol Gives Back in LA on Sunday evening wearing what could either be described as a dominatrix style outfit, or working the look of a vet called out to a farm. She teamed a pair of latex trousers with patent knee high boots and a black vest in a most unadvisable style. I guess her look was similar to a motorcycle racer although this seems like an odd choice for a music event.

I thought that trousers like this had now be banished to the bottom of our wardrobes replaced instead with floral skirts or wide legged jeans. The weather is still quite cold so winter style has not been completely cast aside but I would definitely recommend a longer top with trousers like this and maybe heels. Unfortunately, this outfit marks Fergie's entry to the How would YOU wear it hall of shame. Can you offer her any assistance?

On first glimpse of this outfit you might think I'm mean to demote Konniq Huq to the 'How would YOU wear it' hall of fame but it doesn't quite work some how. If you look through the gallery of images you will see that petite Konnie is just drowned by this tuxedo shirt dress.

She attended the launch of London Restaurant Week at the Hospital in Covent Garden. Konnie teamed the shirt dress with a pair of knee high flat boots which was a mistake in my opinion, it would probably look better with flats pumps and maybe with a waist belt.

Kelly Osbourne was spotted over the weekend at the Australian Grand Prix in this monochrome outfit. I can't quite put my finger on what doesn't work in this ensemble but I think the shape of the skirt doesn't do Kelly any favours, also the neckline of the shirt could be more flattering.

If I were Kelly, I would have opted for a more colourful outfit (it is after all Summer in Australia) and a scoop or v-neck neckline. Also, although it is warm that skirt would look better with opaque tights.
