Leonardo DiCaprio Goes Shirtless and Talks About His Fame in Rolling Stone

Leonardo DiCaprio struck a pensive pose for the cover of the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.

Leonardo DiCaprio struck a pensive pose for the cover of the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone. The actor is still giving interviews about his box office hit movie Inception, which he's currently promoting in Japan amid early Oscar buzz. Leo spoke to the magazine about what life was like for him growing up in Hollywood, dating while famous, and how he managed to stay out of trouble despite his loud mouth. He said:

  • On growing up famous: "I was essentially a dwarf with the biggest mouth in the world. I would talk back to anyone and be up for any fight, and when you tell a kid that's three years older than you to shove it, you're going to get your ass beat . . . I was a real punk, there's no question about it."
  • On partying before there was less privacy: "I got to be wild and nuts, and I didn't suffer as much as people do now, where they have to play it so safe that they ruin their credibility. I didn't care what anyone thought . . . It was also about avoiding the tornado of chaos, of potential downfall. It was, 'Wow, how lucky are we to not have hung out with that crowd or done those things?' My two main competitors in the beginning, the blond-haired kids I went to audition with, one hung himself and the other died of a heroin overdose . . . I was never into drugs at all. There aren't stories of me in a pool of my own vomit in a hotel room on the Hollywood Strip."
  • On dating: "I had better success meeting girls before Titanic. My interactions with them didn't have all the stigma behind it, not to mention there wasn’t a perception of her talking to me for only one reason."

Who Wore Smokey Eyes Best: Ellen Page or Marion Cotillard?

Last night saw the Hollywood premiere of Leonardo's exciting new movie Inception and Leo's co-stars Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page did not disappoint.

Last night saw the Hollywood premiere of Leonardo's exciting new movie Inception and Leo's co-stars Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page did not disappoint. The duo appeared together on the red carpet both sporting dark lined smokey eyes. Ellen's were heavier, paired with dewy blusher and nude lips. Meanwhile Marion's were a softer version, worn with long luscious lashes and her hair swept back in to a chic chignon. I thought they both looked great! Ellen normally sports more toned down looks, so it's lovely to see her embrace her glamorous side. Meanwhile, Marion always looks sensational. Who's smokey eye makeup did you like better?

Inception premiered in LA last night, and castmates Leonardo DiCaprio and Joseph Gordon-Levitt chatted up a storm on the red carpet before posing for photos. Tom Hardy attended with his fiancee Charlotte Riley, who wore a floral dress. Marion Cotillard looked stunning in her dark sparkly dress, and Ellen Page wore a gorgeous green gown for the event, after attending the world premiere in London last week.

Kellan Lutz is done with Eclipse promotion now, and he enjoyed an evening out to see the film with AnnaLynne McCord and his dad. Kellan's hair was lighter than the dark shade we've got used to recently — do you prefer him with lighter hair? AnnaLynne walked the red carpet a grey dress and some bright yellow nail polish.

Tom Hardy Talks Addictions and Life Lessons with Men's Health

Tom Hardy is already a critically acclaimed actor and now he's set for commercial success with the release of must see movie Inception this month, cage fighting movie Warrior with Nick Nolte, and the upcoming Mad Max reboot which he'll film in Australia this year alongside Nicholas Hoult. He appeared on Jonathan Ross's show a couple of weeks ago and now he stars in a photoshoot in Men's Health, and an accompanying interview where he looks back over the things he's learned. Here are some extracts:

  • On his past addictions: “I thought I’d have a little bit of a party, and I’d end up high and frightened, in places that scared me. In a blackout I could end up anywhere. I might wake up somewhere the other side of London, or in another country. Or in bed with someone I didn’t know, not knowing how I got there. Bleeding. This was on a daily basis. And I was going to work. I didn’t want to appear rock ’n’ roll. I didn’t want anyone to know I was out of control, but I couldn’t hide it. Eventually, the body gives up. My body told me. I was completely kaput. I was lucky I didn’t get hepatitis or AIDS.”
  • On his potential: "There comes a point when the world will stop rewarding potential and talent, natural gifts. There’s only so long that people will put up with the potential of working with someone who could be brilliant. . . To be told ‘Tom could do it’ was enough.” There comes a point where if you want to participate at a certain level in anything, you cannot just turn up and be respected. We all want to be recognised by people that we recognise. And a lot of the people who I think are brilliant – and who I want to be more like – work their f**king arses off, constantly. . . Over time, technique wins over natural ability. People who work hard, with constant application, determination and tenacity – although they may not be as interesting, or have as much flair – will win."
