Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was one of the big movie releases this year I was half uber-excited about, and half secretly dreading. As a big fan of the first set of movies, the prospect of a fourth, years later was a little scary. Harrison Ford was 64 years old during filming, and I didn't want the memory of our whip-cracking, snake-fearing hero to be tarnished.

After being conspicuously absent from the NY premiere of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull this week, here's Cate Blanchett supporting and representing her movie in her home country, at the Australian premiere of the movie. Following her elegant Cannes appearance, Cate went with a more modern shape with her outfit, wearing a shining gold dress – the colour of which I love on her pale skin, although I'm not sold on the shape. The movie's out in the UK today.

Last night Harrison Ford swung in to New York City for the US premiere of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, a film that is totally getting my nostalgia going! Cate Blanchett was preparing for the Australian premiere in Sydney, but Karen Allen and Shia LaBeouf represented the cast alongside Harrison in the US – all three of them were beaming with pride. Calista Flockhart showed up in a pretty pale pink dress to support her heroic man, and other guests included Estelle, who represented us Brits.

This weekend at the Cannes Film Festival was ruled by the exciting premiere of Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull on Sunday night. All the stars showed up – sexy older man Harrison Ford, teen crush-magnet Shia LaBeouf and perfect Cate Blanchett – along with famous fans of the movie including on/off couple Kelly Brook and Billy Zane. Paz Vega showed up in a deep red dress channeling Dita Von Teese, Natalie Portman looked classic, and Rachel Leigh Cook turned a few heads in her bright pink number.

Cate Blanchett was looking beautiful in basic black as she flew into Heathrow with her gorgeous son Ignatius yesterday. She's starring in the uber-exciting Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull which is premiering at Cannes on May 18th, so she'll only be here for a short visit before popping over to France for that huge event. Of shooting the film, Cate has said,
"On the first day of shooting it was extremely surreal, I was watching the monitor as Steven set up the frame and I knew the iconography of the frame.

Cate Blanchett is a fitting cover star for Marie Claire's eco-chic June issue, which also features a whole host of A list environmental activists. Just before she gave birth to Ignatius, Cate chatted about "greenovating" her home, about her her marriage and about filming Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (released on 22nd May).
Here are highlights:
