Nicole Kidman Talks Love, Her Partying Days, and Botox with Marie Claire

Nicole Kidman looks gorgeous on the front cover of Marie Claire magazine.

Nicole Kidman looks gorgeous on the front cover of Marie Claire magazine. She spoke to them for the March issue, discussing her relationships with Tom Cruise and Keith Urban, her kids, her partying days and claims she's had botox. Here are some highlights:

  • On love and kids: "I’m crazy in love, and I think you can live anywhere and do anything when you’re crazy in love. To be in this environment and to have that and have your child, it’s sexy, you know. I was a gypsy for so long, living out of a suitcase, sort of dragging Bella and Connor around with me. I’m very driven by falling in love. I fall in love and I’ll drop everything and change everything. . . Bella’s 18, and Connor is 15. Bella’s an adult now, and moving into that stage of life. I think most kids at 18 have moved away and are at college so, yeah, it was harder earlier, and now it is what it is. . . As a couple [me and Tom Cruise] were very private. We were not out a lot and we were very, very tight and that’s why we lasted ten years, which is a good amount of time, particularly when you get married at 23. . . [With Keith] I found my soulmate, and I don’t throw that term around lightly. I found the person that I just love being with. We’re both... it’s awkward to say it because it lessens what it is if I try to trivialise our relationship... He is very important to me."
  • On partying: "I’m Australian. There are times when I have to go and play, but I don’t drink. It’s a supporting thing and not really a big ask. Certainly when I was younger, I wanted to experience everything. So I did. But my imagination is so powerful I have to be careful how I use it. I can make myself believe anything. That’s how I act." Have you tried magic mushrooms? "I refuse to answer that! I’ll see it on the cover of the next tabloid. But sure, I’ve lived my life."
  • On Botox: "Well, I move my forehead, I frown... I tried it, I didn’t like it, so I’ve gone back to my own forehead. But I’ve never had plastic surgery on my face. People say I have but I haven’t."

Pictures of Duffy in February 2011 Marie Claire UK Magazine

Duffy looks gorgeous in these photos from February's issue of Marie Claire magazine. In the accompanying interview she talks candidly, surprising with her attitudes to singing and fame, here are some excerpts from her interview:

  • On her singing career: "I sing for others to enjoy, I have never done this for myself... I am the singer. I don’t do singing. This is who I am. I am the voice. This is me. There’s no separation. My record is me. The music is me. I don’t live for myself. It’s so hard to explain. I remember signing a big record deal and being in a cafe by myself, weighing up what it really meant. I hadn’t written "Mercy" at this time. One of the cons was the fact that my life became part of the record. The person you see. I’m clumsy, I talk sh*t, I’m not perfect. You attach that great work to this? I’m responsible for it now? This 26-year-old, Welsh, blonde thing."
  • On fame: "You know, at any given time I can walk away. It’s not a problem. It can be easily arranged. If people don’t want this, then I’m cool with that. I do it for others. I don’t do it for myself. If people don’t want the records, it’s OK – it’s no problemo. I don’t take it personally. I’m here to serve. If I did this for myself, I’d stay at home. I’d sing in the shower. I’d eat cake and walk my dogs, and work as a waitress. That’s what I’d do for myself, because it’s an easy life. It’s a simple life."
  • On whether it makes her happy: "I don’t think I can ever answer that question... It’s just what I do. What I’ve come here to do. There’s nothing about this that I take for myself – not one single squiddly, squiddly morsel. Nothing. Not the cashmere jumpers, not the accolades, not the pats on the back, not the money…"
  • On her press: "If I told you how much money I’d spent on lawsuits, you wouldn’t believe it. I could buy a whole village in north Wales. I’ll tell you one thing, I might not be clever in business and commerce, ’cause I’m young, but I won’t let anyone f*ck around with my family. That’s one thing I won’t allow. Because it’s not their choice. It’s my choice. I’m the one who has been penning these songs for many years. It’s -nothing to do with them."
  • On where she'll be in 20 years: "Where I want to be and where I think I’ll be are very different things.I don’t care. I don’t care about how I live my life. All I care about is how I will be remembered."

Rihanna

Rihanna Talks Candidly About Life Changes & Her Duet With Eminem In Marie Claire

Rihanna's the red haired coverstar of Marie Claire's December issue, and talks exclusively to the magazine alongside a gorgeous photoshoot.

Rihanna's the red haired coverstar of Marie Claire's December issue, and talks exclusively to the magazine alongside a gorgeous photoshoot. She got emotional during her interview, in which she spoke about how she's changed, and how she relates to the duet she recorded with Eminem. Here are some extracts from her interview:

  • On if she's a different person now: "Yes, I was very lost. I have to say I felt really confused. It was really strange because... Aaagh...I hate talking about it but it was really crazy because I felt so out of touch with myself and when that happens...It’s scary because nothing you say or do feels like it’s you. You just lose touch of everything that you love and everything that you would normally do; how you would dress or how you would say something... It just feels like it’s not coming from you. It’s just this one empty vase. I felt like an empty vessel... [crying] I’m just… I feel like... I smile for real this time."

  • On her duet with Eminem: "He confronted himself on it. He basically gives insight into what goes on in the mind of a couple in a domestically violent relationship. I love that in every verse it just gets to that point where she wants to leave, she wants to leave, she leaves, she leaves, she leaves... but then the hook always comes back and it’s like, 'I love it. I love it.' That’s not what you think when it’s happening. You know you don’t like it but you’re staying, so it’s almost like you must love it because you’re not leaving."
  • On if she related to that on a personal level: "Absolutely. Absolutely! Every word in that song is true. It would take somebody who’s been on the inside to understand how magical those lyrics are. Everybody loves the song but the lyrics can never hit home until you’ve seen it, witnessed it, in your home or experienced it yourself."

Lea Michele Strips Down and Talks Tattoos in Marie Claire

Glee's Lea Michele has stripped down for a raunchy photoshoot and stunning cover for Marie Claire's November issue.

Glee's Lea Michele has stripped down for a raunchy photoshoot and stunning cover for Marie Claire's November issue. Lea also chatted with the mag about her lifestyle, the musical TV show, and her own school experience which she describes as more Gossip Girl than Glee. Here are some extracts from her interview:

  • On partying: "I can honestly sit down in front of you and say I don’t smoke and I don’t do drugs. I never have and that’s who I am. . .These days I have one glass of wine and I’m completely gone. I’ve never been a 'Let’s go out and have a cosmopolitan' kind of girl. I don’t even think I’ve ever tasted a cosmopolitan before. I much prefer a glass of wine and a bath at home at night to relax."
  • On Glee: "We knew it was a great, great pilot, but there hasn’t been a successful TV show that has music in it for, like, ever. Ally McBeal did it kind of; Fame. But for years it hasn’t been done. What I love about our show is that it opens your eyes to a lot of things without being preachy. . . I feel very equal to my cast and I feel like I couldn’t do what I do without them."
  • On her tattoos: "I don’t have like a kiss on my butt or anything! They’re all tiny. I mean, you saw me in the shoot today, I was practically nude. Did you see any? No. I’m telling you, I have nine. All so, so, so little. . . I’ve been thinking about [the next one] for a while and my poor boyfriend… I’m always like, 'What shall I do next?' And he’s like, 'I don’t know!’'"

Drew Barrymore looks gorgeous on the cover of Marie Claire magazine's September issue.

Drew Barrymore looks gorgeous on the cover of Marie Claire magazine's September issue. Inside, she opens up about love, sex, getting older and her on-off boyfriend Justin Long, alongside a saucy photoshoot. Here are some extracts from her interview:

  • On getting older: "I’m happy to say that, at 35 years old, I feel I know less than ever. But in a liberating way. I’m trying to figure out how to make relationships work. The only thing I know is that there aren’t any rules. There should be no infrastructure on how a couple is supposed to work. Life isn’t like that."
  • On romance: "The fact that I’m begging for a phone call is pathetic in this age of technology. Plans are made by text – I can’t stand it. My ex, Fabrizio [Moretti, drummer with The Strokes], and I used to always make each other things for Valentine’s Day. I loved that. I know it was something we looked forward to and was really cool. I encourage people to make things for each other – it’s so beautiful."
  • On love: "‘It smells good – like somebody’s skin. It’s amazing to me that, when you fall in love with someone, you just start to love the way they smell. If I have to go away from someone, I say, 'Wear this T-shirt for five days in a row, then I’m going to take it with me.'. . .I’m not an aficionado on the subject right now. Some of the things I thought were a certain way have revealed themselves to be quite different, so I feel very awake and very open-hearted and open-minded. I’d like to approach certain things differently. I feel like I’m learning a lot right now. I’m not the teacher, I’m the student – I want to try new things."

Vanessa Paradis Chats About Her Life With Johnny Depp in Marie Claire

Vanessa Paradis opens up about her relationship with Johnny Depp in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine.

Vanessa Paradis opens up about her relationship with Johnny Depp in the latest issue of Marie Claire magazine. She shows off her playful personality in the accompanying photos and also ponders if she'd let her children go into the career she has had. Here are some extracts from her interview:

  • On if she asks Johnny's advice on scripts: "When it comes to planning, yes. Otherwise, very rarely. In fact, we don’t really speak a lot about work when we’re together. We just try to organise ourselves so we can spend as much time as possible together."

  • On how she keeps the passion alive: "First of all, you have to be lucky enough to find the right person. Next, the fact that we’re not together every day plays a big part in keeping our relationship stable. And then we also have a lot of respect and admiration for each other. We understand that, if we want our relationship to continue, we must give each other space, allow each other to go off on our own, and trust each other."
  • On space and trust: "You’re really lucky if you find someone you can trust when you spend time apart. But it’s more complicated than that. Keeping love alive should be like the way you live your life: you don’t eat the same meal every day, you don’t read the same book, you don’t listen to the same CD. When you are a couple, you need to go off alone and discover things for yourself."

Naomi Watts

Naomi Watts Reveals All About Family, Fame, and Why Marriage Isn't Important To Her

Naomi Watts is featured on the front cover of July's Marie Claire, and inside she chats openly about her childhood and her life now.

Naomi Watts is featured on the front cover of July's Marie Claire, and inside she chats openly about her childhood and her life now. Naomi discusses her father's death when she was seven, talks about her ex Heath Ledger, and the happiness she's found with her fiance Liev Schreiber. Here are some extracts:

  • On if it was deliberate to have kids later in life: "God, no! First of all, I didn’t ever think I would be having kids this late. Then two kids under the age of two in diapers – it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but the most rewarding.... As I said, I started every-thing late. My career started late, so by the time I was ready to have children, I felt like I had enough of a body of work under my belt. I was ready to say, ‘OK, let’s slow this down a little bit.’"
  • On her first taste of fame: "Everyone said it was an overnight success, but it was ten years leading up to that. You want to think, in retrospect, that you had really thick skin, but ... I was so sensitive. I was hearing bits of feedback and... trying to dilute myself into what I thought they wanted... No wonder nobody hired me. It took someone like David Lynch to see beyond that.... I’m very shy. I’m terrible at parties. I went to a club the other night and felt so awkward and ungroovy. Everyone else looks so cool. It’s just how I’ve always been."
  • On if she dealt properly with her Father's death: "No, no. I mean, obviously I was comforted. But my mum was young. When I did 21 Grams, I researched this a lot... There are so many ways to deal with it, and in retrospect... I didn’t deal with my grief at the time... The last time I saw him, I had done something I wasn’t supposed to, and he got cross.... I wished bad things for him that day. Of course [I carry guilt]. I was very young – don’t forget, he died when I was seven – but my parents divorced when I was four, so there weren’t tons of memories."

Inside the mag she talks about her famous exes, her envied body and the happiness she's found with her hubby Marc Anthony. Here are some highlights:

  • On her past relationships: "The tabloids covered those times heavily, but when I look back I know those were real parts of my life. That's what maybe confused people — it seemed like something that was made up and crazy, but there was real genuine feeling in all those relationships."
  • On keeping up with her exes' lives: "Would I see a movie of Ben’s? Sure! Why not? I haven't seen him or talked to him in a while — our lives went in two very different directions. But I always wish him the best and I always thought he was a great person. And Sean - I've run into him once or twice, with Marc, and it's always very friendly. He asks about the twins because he has twins too. Again, I always wish him the best."
  • On how she felt about all the attention: "I honestly at that time was in such a work fog I didn't even notice. Now that I've had time to sit I appreciate and love everything in a different way, and I think that's because of the kids too. I just think of life in a different way: back then it was just about the grind."
