Penelope Cruz wore a long black gown for this evening's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides premiere in Madrid after sporting a more playful jumpsuit for the morning's photocall. Penelope was joined by her young cast mates Sam Claflin and Astrid Bergès-Frisbey for the red-carpet affair, though Johnny Depp wasn't on hand for the Spanish debut of the film. Penelope has been traveling the globe to promote the movie's release — vote for your favorite of Penelope's Pirates fashion on Fab! The actress and new mom is also showing off sexy style on the June cover of Vogue, which hits stands just a few days after the latest Pirates of the Caribbean installment opens in theaters on Friday.
Vogue cover girl Penelope Cruz changed up her promotional outfits today by wearing a one-piece, instead of a long dress, to the Madrid photo call for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides held at the city's Villamagna Hotel. She's in her native Spain after a whirlwind promotional schedule that kicked off over a week ago in LA, where she and costar Johnny Depp debuted the movie with a huge todo at Disneyland. Penelope and Johnny were then off to Moscow, London, and, finally, Cannes for a star-studded screening during the film festival. Despite our hopes, neither Johnny nor Penelope have hit the red carpet with their respective significant others Vanessa Paradis and Javier Bardem. In fact, Johnny seems to be sitting out the last leg of the promotional endeavors. Penelope was solo for yesterday's event in Munich, and this morning she had only costars Sam Claflin and Astrid-Berges Frisbey as well as producer Jerry Bruckheimer. Penelope has one more Pirates premiere this evening in her home city, and she's sure to keep the fab press tour fashion coming.
Penelope Cruz greeted fans and press in a beautiful red gown at today's Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides premiere in Munich. It's the latest stop on Penelope's round-the-world tour, which has so far taken her from the US to Russia, Britain, France, and now Germany. She's had the company of her good-looking costar Johnny Depp for the majority of the trip, though her husband, Javier Bardem, has yet to join her on any carpets. Penelope did, though, speak about Javier and their young son, Leo, in the upcoming June issue of Vogue. Penelope Cruz actually started crying during the Vogue interview, as she was overcome with emotion while talking about her love for baby Leo.
Penelope Cruz looked phenomenal in her curve-hugging Stella McCartney dress and Johnny Depp was dapper in white at this afternoon's Cannes Film Festival Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides photo call ahead of tonight's big premiere. The two posed for cameras alongside their costars, including cute newcomer Sam Claflin, as they headed in to take questions at a press conference. The two kept things light answering their questions, with Johnny joking that he's "scared" of critics and the only reviews he pays attention to are his kids' — they've given this one raves. "My family have seen more of my movies than I have. In fact, a lot more, including this one," Johnny said, "So they go and see the movies, and basically, I can tell by their reaction if I did all right or not. So I'm very lucky in that way. They seem to enjoy them so far. I haven't been fired by my kids."
He also revealed that his little ones are where he tests his material: "They've been angels through this process, because I started out secretly testing characters on them to see how the reactions would be. When my daughter was little, we'd be playing Barbies, and I'd start doing these voices. Finally, she just said, 'Stop.'"
In the movie, the characters are looking for the fountain of eternal youth, but in real life the stunning 37-year-old Penelope isn't afraid to age. She spoke about people's obsession with staying young: "Birthdays are always something to celebrate. I'm looking forward to every step of the way. Maybe because I'm from Spain, that's looked at in a different way there than, for example, a place like Los Angeles . . . There are a lot of things that I keep from my roots and that's one of them, the way we look at that. I never want to be afraid of that. Change is good."
The two were soon off to make a costume change before this evening's red-carpet gala, which is just the latest on an international press tour that has already included stops in Russia and London.
Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp continued their press tour for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides with a stop in London today. They've been on the go since premiering Pirates at Disneyland last week and already traveled to Russia for another appearance. Johnny and Penelope will keep the promotions going when they land in Cannes on Saturday and join the star-studded film festival that kicked off on Wednesday. It remains to be seen if Johnny and Penelope will have their significant others by their side for the event, but they'll still be the center of attention even if they show up solo. Johnny's got eyes on him all over the world now since a new wax figure of the star was just unveiled in Germany.
Penelope Cruz and Johnny Depp popped up at the Ritz Hotel in Moscow this morning at a photo call before the Russian premiere of Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. The duo are traveling the globe to promote the latest installment of the franchise, and were in LA just last Saturday for a huge Disneyland screening. The California stop came after a few days in NYC for Penelope, so she could attend the Met Ball alongside designer Oscar de la Renta. She and Johnny are next bound next for Cannes, where they'll join a roster of other A-list stars on the red carpet. Johnny and Penelope will hit the film festival alongside others like Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Alexander Skarsgard, Ryan Gosling, and more. There's lots of anticipation for all the celebrities, though it seems Angelina is the one fans are most excited to see posing for photos. Hopefully, Penelope was able to take a break on Sunday to celebrate her very first Mother's Day. You ranked Penelope as your favorite new mom of the year, and she likely spent the day alongside husband Javier and their little boy Leo before jetting off on the next leg of her huge press tour. Johnny, meanwhile, will be able to reunite with partner Vanessa Paradis soon. She's already in the south of France, having headed there earlier this week to see Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Cruise collection with Rachel Bilson and Blake Lively.
We were able to chat with the gorgeous Penelope Cruz recently all about her upcoming movie Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She revealed that she got some laughs from costar Johnny Depp after impersonating his Jack Sparrow character, mustache and all, and Penelope even said that he's offered her some parenting advice. Penelope left the door open for a possible return to the franchise in a fifth Pirates movie, if that ever were to happen!
