Sophie Ellis Bextor attended the 30th anniversary of Mamas and Papas last night working a clashing ensemble. She wore a checked coat over a floral striped dress. There used to be a rule about mixing patterns, but in fashion – rules are made to be broken! This got me wondering, do you like to clash prints?
Day two of London Fashion Week attracted celebs like Marina Diamandis, Olivia Palermo and Alexa Chung out to see some amazing A/W 2011 looks on the catwalk. Marina brightened up the front row at Jonathan Saunders and Kinder Aggugini, in bright blue shades, a stripy top, and a neon pink skirt. Olivia Palermo wore some cute leopard print shoes to the Jaeger London show, while Alexa switched up her look from the morning with the same coat and jacket, but bare legs and socks with some different strappy heels. Stars including Nicola Roberts, Alexa Chung and Jameela Jamil have been out at London Fashion Week over the last couple of days, as our capital started its turn as a stylish centre after NYFW came to a close on Thursday. Nicola Roberts showed off her long locks and a gorgeous LBD as she left the Bora Aksu show, where she met up with Keisha Buchanan and sat front row with Laura Whitmore. Alexa Chung attended the Charles Anastase Show this morning, looking chic as ever after hosting the Elle Style Awards earlier this week, and her old T4 colleague Jameela Jamil took to the decks after Jessie J performed at the launch of Vivienne Westwood's Get A Life Palladium jewellery collection last night. The red carpet at the Brits tonight was full of eyecatching gowns on female stars from music and TV. Those that dared to brighten up a little included Tess Daly who accompanied her hubby Vernon Kay on the red carpet and wore a pink gown. Eliza Doolittle wore some bright wedges and a splash of colour on her minidress, Rihanna went all out in her bright ensemble, while Lisa Snowdon showed off her amazing figure in a short neon yellow dress.
Adele looked gorgeous in a black dress ahead of performing at the ceremony, while Cheryl Cole shimmered in her floor length black gown — is Cheryl's dress your favourite with a thigh-high slit in the fabric? Avril Lavigne also wore an LBD and gave a nod to another red carpet trend with some neon stripes in her hair — do you love or hate her look?

It's been a very colourful year for the Brit Awards as stars have brought an array of colours to the red carpet. Wedged between the BAFTAs and the BRITs during this year's award season was the Elle Style Awards, held last night in London. Vivienne Westwood presented Emma Watson with the Style Icon award, although she had no idea who she is. Alexa Chung hosted the event and hung out with friends including Nick Grimshaw at the afterparty, while Cheryl Cole wore an eye-catching red dress and picked up the best music award.
