Lauren Conrad smiled and posed for photos at the launch of her teen novel LA Candy in Beverly Hills yesterday, marking her debut as an author. Best known as a reality TV star thanks to MTV series like The Hills, LC is also a fashion designer, but she's now concentrating on her book as she's setting off around the US on a book tour this month! The story focuses on a girl who moves to LA as an intern and becomes one of TV's hottest stars — sound familiar?!

Season Five of The Hills premiered in the US on Monday, bringing Lauren Conrad and her pals back to our American friends' TV screens. While we wait for the new season to make it over to our shores, MTV UK is airing the show's two spin-offs, The City and Bromance.
