The Avengers Take Europe as They Look Forward to a Super Opening Weekend

Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Scarlett Johansson, and Mark Ruffalo were at Rome's De Russie Hotel on Saturday for a stop on The Avengers press tour before the guys headed to Germany, sans Scarlett, for yet another photocall today. The foursome traveled abroad to promote the superhero movie all last week, kicking things off with an appearance in Moscow before moving onto London and then Italy together. The Marvel movie is expected to enjoy a big debut at the box office. Early reviews for The Avengers have been overwhelmingly positive and the movie is estimated to earn as much as The Dark Knight and The Hunger Games each did in their opening weekends. That could easily make The Avengers the biggest first-weekend earner among superhero movies to date when it hits theaters on May 4.

The Avengers Bring Their Superpowers to London

Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and the rest of the all-star Avengers cast stepped out in London tonight for the UK premiere.

Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., and the rest of the all-star Avengers cast stepped out in London tonight for the UK premiere. The actors are making their way around the globe prior to the May 4 US release of the action adventure. We were on hand for the LA debut last week, and since then, Scarlett, RDJ, and the rest of the celebs have been on the road talking up their larger-than-life flick. It was a special evening for dad-to-be Chris Hemsworth, who was joined by his Hoss Intropia-clad wife, Elsa Pataky. The couple are expecting their first child this Summer, though they've decided to keep the baby's gender a secret. Robert might be able to give Chris some parenting tips — RDJ and his wife, Susan, welcomed son Exton in February.

Scarlett opted to break away from the sexy LBDs she's been wearing and instead chose a floral embroidered Prada frock. Scarlett was the only female cast member to make the trek to Moscow for the Avengers screening, but tonight she was joined by her partner in fighting crime, Cobie Smulders. Cobie dazzled in a form-fitted, floor-length Alexandra Vidal red gown.

Scarlett, RDJ, and Their Superhero Crew Step Out For The Avengers Premiere

A Versace-clad Scarlett Johansson joined Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L.

A Versace-clad Scarlett Johansson joined Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Samuel L. Jackson, and several other big superhero names at last night's premiere of The Avengers at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood. We were live on the red carpet, bringing you our interviews with the heroes of the new Marvel movie and capturing all the star-studded arrivals. The film's boldfaced cast also includes Mark Ruffalo, who had his lovely wife Sunrise Coigney on his arm at the debut, Tom Hiddleston, and Jeremy Renner, to name just a few. Stellan Skarsgård, who has a small role in the film, was also in attendance with his son Alexander Skarsgård close by.

On the carpet, Scarlett told us that if she had her character Black Widow's powers of interrogation, she'd probably use her skills to grill George Clooney for all his secrets. Meanwhile, new dad Robert Downey Jr., who was there with his wife Susan Downey, spoke about feeling great since the birth of their son Exton earlier this year. Stay tuned for today's PopSugar Rush to catch our interviews with Scarlett and RDJ, and for any others you may have missed!

The Avengers is one of the most anticipated movies of 2012, but the year's biggest box office hit — The Hunger Games — came up several times during the evening. Chris Hemsworth spoke about his little brother Liam Hemsworth's success with the blockbuster, and Jeremy Renner — whose character Hawkeye is an expert with the bow and arrow — told us he thinks he'd easily take Katniss in an archery competition.

Watch the Explosive, Exciting Trailer For The Avengers!

If you've seen Thor, Captain America, or either of the Iron Man movies, you have a pretty good idea of what you can expect from the first trailer for The Avengers, but that's a big part of the fun.

If you've seen Thor, Captain America, or either of the Iron Man movies, you have a pretty good idea of what you can expect from the first trailer for The Avengers, but that's a big part of the fun. The film calls together those three superheroes, along with Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), and The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo). As expected, the group doesn't exactly mesh well when they're called to action by Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), mostly because they've all got different personalities and temperament. Robert Downey Jr. is the center of attention (at least in this preview), with his snark providing the brunt of the comic relief. Still, the jokes are only made better by the reactions of arrogant Thor, nice-guy Captain America, and so on.

Though the actual premise of the story focuses on The Avengers trying to protect the world from Thor's villainous brother, Loki, it's clear that the real story here is the introduction of the group as a whole and the story of how they came together. I'm definitely looking forward to this one, if not just because I've grown to love many of these characters in their own right. The film doesn't open until next summer, but watch the preview (and be sure to stay tuned to the end for your first glimpse of the hulk), when you read more

Scarlett Johansson and Robert Downey Jr. Give Fans a Sneak Peek at The Avengers

Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Cobie Smulders, and Jeremy Renner were among the stars of The Avengers who took the stage at today's D23 Expo in Anaheim.

Scarlett Johansson, Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Cobie Smulders, and Jeremy Renner were among the stars of The Avengers who took the stage at today's D23 Expo in Anaheim. The actors gave fans at the Disney convention a first look at their highly anticipated production, which brings together some of Marvel's most beloved characters. The project, which is still shooting in Ohio, is slated to hit theaters in May of 2012. In fact, Mark Ruffalo and Chris Evans weren't able to join the rest of the onscreen superheroes at the event because they are still tied up on the set of the film. The studio previewed some early clips from The Avengers, including a showdown between Tony Stark and Loki — played by Tom Hiddleston — and another that showed Mark in action as The Hulk. Scarlett, who is still rocking the same red hair as her character, Black Widow, wore a bright coral minidress and patent pumps to help intro the movie. It was one of several upcoming releases hyped at D23 today, but The Avengers definitely drew the strongest fan reaction, with Robert Downey Jr. eliciting a standing ovation from the arena the moment he stepped onto the stage. Robert, who missed the first showing of the preview clip, even asked that they play it a second time so he and the crowd could enjoy it together! Stay tuned for more of our coverage from D23 and watch Monday's PopSugar Rush to see our interviews with The Avengers cast.
