Beyonce and Lady GaGa each have nine MTV VMA nominations for "Single Ladies (Put A Ring on It)", "Poker Face" and "Paparazzi". Coldplay is flying the flag for us Brits, with "Viva La Vida" nominated for Best Rock Video, Best Editing, Best Art Direction and Best Cinematography. Bat For Lashes is nominated in the Best Breakthrough Video category for "Daniel", which the majority of you loved.
Coldplay, Jay-Z and Girls Aloud Rock Wembley Stadium
Coldplay brought their world tour to a close this weekend with two rocking shows at Wembley Stadium, and I was lucky enough to be there. Chris Martin and the boys were supported by White Lies, Girls Aloud and a record-breaking Jay-Z, who really got the audience going: watch Girls Aloud's "The Promise" and Jay-Z's "Empire State of Mind" after the jump. Coldplay performed a mammoth set of their hits, plus an acoustic version of "Billie Jean" where they were joined by Simon Pegg who played the harmonica, and Jay-Z came back out for "Lost".
Pop Parties: The Brit Awards 2009 Launch & Nominations!
Last night FabUK and I attended The Brit Awards 2009 launch party and nominations announcement show at the Roundhouse in London, where we watched some great performances from Florence and the Machine, Scouting For Girls and Gabriella Cilmi. The event was hosted by Fearne Cotton who looked absolutely gorgeous in her studded black dress, and kept the audience entertained between filming segments of the televised show. Lovely Florence threw flowers out into the audience before her performance, Scouting For Girls got the crowd jumping around with "She's So Lovely" and I spied the new Skins cast, including Kaya Scodelario, dancing in the audience.
It's A Double For Coldplay At The Q Awards
The Grosvenor House Hotel in London played host to the 2008 Q Awards yesterday, presented by Alan Carr and attracting an eclectic mix of acts from the music industry. Coldplay were the big winners, and picked up awards for Viva La Vida Or Death And All His Friends as Best Album and also Best Act In The World Today. Duffy won Best Breakthrough Act at the ceremony, but picked up her award via video link.
2008 MTV EMA Nominations Announced!
The nominations have been announced for the 2008 MTV Europe Music Awards, which is taking place on November 6th in Liverpool. Britney Spears, Coldplay and Duffy all lead the table with three nominations each, while acts like Rihanna, Leona Lewis, Foo Fighters, Miley Cyrus and the Jonas Brothers are also up for gongs. I can't wait to see if the show's as much of a headline-maker as the VMAs!

The Stars Pull Out All The Stops For The Brits Show
Last night we were treated to some awesome performances at the Brit Awards. U2 opened the show before hosts Kylie Minogue, James Corden and Mathew Horne had us laughing out loud with their outfits and dancing. Girls Aloud brought slinky costumes and pink feathers to the stage to perform the Best British Single "The Promise", while Kings of Leon rocked out, Chris Martin and Coldplay were covered in ticker tape, and Take That descended on a central pod wearing glasses.

The Brit Awards 2009 are tonight, so it's time for my final poll and it's a goodun! Top tracks are competing for the title of Best British Single, and I want to know which you'd like to see win the category. Sources suggest the split was because Colin started slighting Emma, refusing to introduce her to his family and not mentioning her in his acceptance speech at the Golden Globe Awards. The insider added that they remain friends.
