Superstar singers took to the stages in Chelmsford and Staffordshire for V Festival this weekend. Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Alesha Dixon impressed on stage in their outlandish outfits. Sugar Bits — Slipknot Do the Double at Kerrang! Awards
- Slipknot won two Kerrang! awards, including best live act and best international band, with Bullet For My Valentine winning best British band. Metallica won best album, while The Prodigy won best single and Alice In Chains was voted Kerrang!

Pete Doherty Released on £50,000 Bail After Police Car Chase
Pete Doherty has been released on £50,000 bail, provided by his manager, following his arrest yesterday. In the early hours of Thursday morning Pete got into a car chase with police, drove while under the influence of alcohol, and heroin was found in his car and, later, his house.
He was in Gloucester for a gig on Wednesday night, when police tried to stop him for driving erratically, Pete then apparently sped away and mounted a kerb and when he stopped he tried to swap seats with a female passenger.

Pete Doherty Arrested Over Drugs On Flight
While flying to Geneva, Switzerland at the weekend, Pete Doherty was allegedly discovered slumped in a plane bathroom, which led to him being detained on arrival by police. A hypodermic needle was also apparently found on board. The Swiss police arrested Pete, but allowed him to play the show that he was in the country to perform.
