Scarlett, Eva and Samuel Have Spirit!
Scarlett Johansson, Eva Mendes and Samuel L Jackson were in London last night to celebrate their upcoming movie The Spirit at the Old Post Office, before the world premiere in New York which takes place in a few days time. Scarlett and Eva looked stunning in their bright dresses on the red carpet, while Samuel L Jackson stuck to his basic black outfit and trademark hat! While posing Eva talked about how she stays comfortable when showing skin in the movie, she said:

A whole host of gorgeous and quirky types were out for the Independent Spirit Awards in California yesterday. At the reception for nominees a selection of the attendees had a sneak preview of Rainn Wilson's hosting skills, but this was the real deal. Brad showed up with a blooming Angelina, Ellen Page and Javier Bardem wore very similar outfits (and managed to look equally cute - who wore it better?) and all the stars and makers of this year's Indie favourites were out in force from Diablo Cody and Sienna Miller to Philip Seymour Hoffman and Julian Schnabel.

Kylie Minogue and Fergie entered into the spirit of Halloween at Club 57 in New York at the weekend and got dressed up just like lots of other stars in the US and the UK. Fergie chose Egyptian style as Cleopatra, Marc Jacobs was Robin to his friend's Batman, while Kylie and her man Andres Velencoso went as a couple of mime artists! The pals looked like they were having a fine time, although much has been made of Josh Duhamel's absence, even though his rep has denied rumours he cheated on Fergie with a stripper.

Famous friends have been paying tribute to Stephen Gately, who died at the weekend while on holiday in Majorca. Westlife have written about their shock on their website: "He was a friendly, positive spirit and a passionate performer". She was full of smiles as she arrived, and seemed in high spirits for the rest of the night as she rubbed shoulders with fellow guests including Kaya Scodelario and Bonnie Wright. Lily's teamed up with a wide range of other singers on a new charity single bringing awareness about climate change, and is touring with Dizzee Rascal next year.

Yesterday Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner and Rob Lowe were in high spirits as the celebrated the first screening of their new film The Invention Of Lying at the Toronto International Film Festival. Jennifer looked stunning in her green dress, while Ricky looked rather relieved after the event, and quite happy with the wine he was drinking! He's taken the role of director as well as star for the first time on this movie, and the premiere screening seemed to go well, with critics receiving the movie warmly.
