During an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres [1] Show in 2008, Swift confirmed that the Fearless track was about her short-lived romance with Jonas [2]. She wrote the song as their relationship was on the decline, and got a last-minute recording session so she could add it to the album. They eventually broke up a month before the album was released.
