Unlike some of her most recent singles from the Lover album, the title track, which many fans think is an engagement announcement [1], includes some very pointed references to her romance with Joe [2]. One lyric in particular is when she talks about loving someone for three Summers now, but wanting them all. Taylor and Joe first met in May 2016 at the Met Gala, so this could be her way of saying it was love at first sight when they first met.
