Beauty Banks [3] — set up by Sali Hughes and Jo Jones — has been on a mission to tackle hygiene poverty since 2018. They started the movement with the belief that being clean is a human right, not a luxury. This week, the charity announced that new donation points have been installed into 100 Superdrug [4] stores across the UK, making it easier than ever to donate unused beauty products to those in need.

The "Beauty Spot" [5] donation bins are in 100 Superdrug stores in cities across the UK, and each of the stores is partnered with a local charity, where the products will be passed on directly to those in need. To donate, you can either purchase new products in store, or bring in unused products you have at home, which will then be distributed to the community.

So, what products can you donate? Toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, baby products such as nappies and cream, sanitary products, shampoo and conditioner, shaving gel, and hair brushes. Basically, anything that is an essential toiletry item.

To find a donation point near you, check out the Superdrug "Beauty Spot" location list. [6]
