I was totally blown away by the hair and makeup yesterday the Aquascutum show. It's one thing to create a bare looking face and bouncy hair, but when you do it with such perfection, it's envy of every girl. MAC provided all of the makeup and lead artist Cher Webb was on hand to talk to me about "the wholesome, healthy, rich girl style" that she was aiming to achieve.
She began by using Studio Sculpt Foundation on the face and Vanilla Pigment on the brow bone. Strada Powder Blush was applied to the hollows of the cheeks for contour, and Groundwork Paintpot was used around the eyes — think raccoon, but go light with your touch so that it looks more like a shadow. Fluidline lined the top lash-line, and was "pressed into the eye to create definition, not drama". Pro Lash Mascara was applied as a finishing touch, and nothing but leftover foundation from the brush mixed with Conditioner was on the lips.
Hair was styled in a "luxe and healthy looking blow-dry with a 70's outdoorsy, casual feel" by lead hairdresser Sam McKnight for Pantene. He doused wet hair with Magnifying Mousse and dried it with a large round brush. Then, he pinned the curls back whilst their makeup was getting done. Once they were ready, he tousled the hair, brushing it out gently and applied Hairspray all over. For those with thin or short hair, he also added in some extensions.
