41 and Fabulous: How Gabrielle Union Stays Looking So Young
Gabrielle Union has obviously made a deal with the devil. Seriously, any woman who looks that good at 41 years old knows something the rest of us don't. We had a chance to talk to the actress recently at the launch of Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Toothbrush Pink (£250). So naturally the first thing we wanted to know: how the hell does she stay looking so fresh-faced?
"I drink a gallon of water a day," Gabrielle said. "I started doing it at 35, and it's been the single most important thing in my beauty routine. It's hair, skin, nails, weight loss, weight management, digestion; it has made the biggest difference." So now that we're all sporting new extra large jugs at the desk, we want to know the rest. It's got to be more than just H20, right?
Gabrielle also has an extensive beauty regimen that she never travels without.
Neutrogena Pink Grapefruit Wash (£5), Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair Moisturizer SPF 30, Pureology Super Smooth Shampoo (£15), and It's a 10 Leave-In Plus Keratin.
That's right — Gabrielle knows about hair, too. After a bad blonde experience (we've all been there), she discovered the Holy Grail of hair growth, and it will cost you less than £10. "Because my hair was so dark, it took a lot of process to get it that light. After a couple of months, it just broke off where the blonde started," she explained. "My focus in the last year has just been growing my hair back, repairing the damage the blonde did. I am now a big advocate on colouring extensions." Right now she's using Jamaican Black Castor Oil (£7) to keep her brunette locks healthy.
Finally, Gabrielle left us with the most sage advice we've heard in a while, and it had nothing to do with beauty. "Dance like nobody is watching, and stay till they turn the lights off. . . . Till they bring out the broom; around that time you should gather your things."
