The '60s ponytail style has been massively popular this year, with celebrities like Ashley Graham and Kim Kardashian frequently wearing the trend. Up until now, however, how to achieve the thick, sleek style has been a secret between pros. Thankfully, celebrity hairstylist Justine Marjan just posted a tutorial on Instagram featuring model Jasmine Sanders, showing fans how to get the look themselves.

First, Marjan straightened Sanders's hair in small sections, smoothing it out with a brush. Then, she parted her hair right behind her ears and created a half-up ponytail on the top of Sanders's head, smoothing out the sides with Bumble and Bumble Sumogel ($29) and securing it with Tresemme Micro Mist Hairspray ($5). Next, she gathered the rest of the hair from the back of her head, smoothing it out and gathering it into the first ponytail and securing the whole thing with an elastic.

To give the look extra body, Marjan used a Hidden Crown Hair Bungee Ponytail ($199), which features bungee-style hooks on the top of the extension piece, and attached it to Sanders's hair by wrapping it around her existing ponytail. Marjan then cut the extension, giving it a blunt end, and flipped the pieces outward with a curling iron.

Now that we know how this look is achieved, we can't wait to try it out for ourselves. Check out celebrities wearing the '60s hairstyle ahead.
