Amber Gill’s Hairstylist Spilled All the Secrets on Her Perfectly Curled Love Island Hair
Amber Gill is no stranger to the beauty industry: she works in a salon herself, but for the final episode of Love Island, she put her hair in the hands of hairstylist Gemma Wheatcroft.
Between all the drama and humidity, Gill's honey-highlighted hair remained perfect at all times, without a hint of frizz in sight. Of course, we needed to know exactly how she managed to keep her curls looking so perfect. So we quizzed Wheatcroft on how she kept Gill's hair in all its spiral-shaped glory, so you can, too.
Although Gill has a lot of hair, it always looked light and healthy despite the scorching Summer weather. The secret? Bouclème. Wheatcroft first used a small amount of hair hydrating cream, such as Bouclème Curl Cream (£9.50), running it throughout damp hair to ensure moisture is locked in, followed by Bouclème Curl Defining Gel (£15) to "coat and seal the curls for soft definition." For Amber, Wheatcroft stressed that products without sulphates, parabens, and silicones are the key to keeping curly hair feeling as light as possible without losing curl definition. However, this may not be the case for everyone's hair type.
But the humidity around the villa and Casa Amor meant that Gill's curls needed extra attention between washes. "I used the Bouclème Curl Cream mixed with water in a spritz to refresh her curls for her final evening look" Wheatcroft explained, followed by Curl Gel and Bouclème Super Hold Styler (£18) to define them and stop the frizz in the humid weather."Once the hair was dry and her curls were set, I used an Afro comb to gently lift the roots and create great shape and volume on her beautiful sun-kissed curls," Wheatcroft said.
And there you have it — the not-so-secret way Amber Gill keeps her hair looking curly and fresh all Summer.
