If you can't scroll through your Instagram feed without watching a contouring video, know that could be about to change. According to the connoisseurs of taste at Vogue.com, the chiselled chin fad may be on its way out. The magazine deems that the "baby face" is coming back into fashion. And we have to admit we're ready to embrace this fresh look for Spring.
Model Gigi Hadid can be credited for leading the charge. "Where the Kardashians sparked a bronzer boom with their sharp features, Hadid brings an unexpected freshness that has cast the baby face — round, pinchable — in a newly flattering light," the Vogue.com author pens.
The cute, "plumped-cheek" look can be characterised by dewy skin, without masses of bronzer used to create deep shadows and hollows around the face. But it's definitely not a no-makeup look as features can be accented to look doll-like thanks to lush lashes, pearly pink lips, and of course a rose flush of blush or light dusting of copper.
Make note that in our opinion, this is not necessarily about having a young face, it's about having a youthful makeup look. And the best way to embrace it is by focusing on your skin care routine. And try eating an organic, plant-based diet, because nothing will make your skin glow like ingesting a ton of vitamins.
Try it at home by swapping your heavy foundation for a sheer, luminous primer, applying a cream blush, and coating your lashes with a volumizing mascara. Leave your lips bare or choose a barely there colour for a subtle wash.
