While we're all probably too old to live out the Ice Princess fantasies of our youth, the Winter Olympics provides a welcome opportunity to live vicariously through the world's best figure skaters. Along with swooning over their jumps, twirls, and triple fricking axels (what's good, Mirai Nagasu? [1]), we're also partial to a powerful beauty look. Thankfully, this year the athletes are delivering those in spades. From Maé-Bérénice Méité's blinding highlighter to Alexa Knierim's ballet bun, here are the 12 best hair and makeup moments from the 2018 Winter Olympics. Go team!

Mirai Nagasu

Moments before becoming the first American woman to land a triple axel at the Olympics [2] (and thus making us all ugly cry tears of pride), US figure skater Mirai Nagasu showed off her impeccable makeup. Her faded cherry lipstick, fiery red smokey eye, and elegant thick cat eye is enough to earn a perfect score in our beauty books.

Gabrielle Daleman

The Canadian basically turned into the human hair flip emoji with her curly ponytail, sunset eye shadow [3], full brows, and ice-white manicure.

Alexa Knierim

The only thing cuter than watching husband and wife team Alexa and Chris Knierim [4] compete for Team USA side-by-side? Alexa's effortlessly chic chignon, which takes inspiration from a ballerina bun.

As Italian Valentina Marchei reacted to her silver medal placement for her pair routine with Ondrej Hotarek, she repped her country's flag on her manicure.

The Japanese figure skater wore a neon pink, '80s-inspired smokey eye shadow and a bubblegum-tinted gloss. Seriously, whatever lip treatment she's doing, we want to slather on our lips, too.

Kaetlyn Osmond

Kaetlyn skated for her native Canada in the women's short program, all the while rocking navy eye shadow, purple-red lipstick, and a vintage-inspired victory roll [5] hairstyle. (Perhaps a fortuitous nod to her bronze finish?)

Maé-Bérénice Méité

The French figure skater opted to play a mash-up of the Beyoncé songs "Run the World" and "Halo" for her women's short program performance and wore a beauty look of ample highlighter that was fit for the homage.

Bradie Tennell

Team USA's Bradie Tennell matched a ruby hair accessory to her crimson dress, which stood out against her upswept bun.

Kana Muramoto

Japan's Kana Muramoto capital-W worked it in an orange and pink smoky eye, fuschia lipstick, and voluminous updo. We love how she matched her makeup to that (superhot) skating outfit.

Yura Min

In a competition full of buns, South Korea's Yura Min opted for an out-to-there ponytail that brought her twirls to new levels. A dark berry red lipstick also added to the overall drama of her look.

But she wasn't the only one! Kavita Lorenz of Germany also joined the pony brigade, adding a cute little twist onto the crown of her hair. She also served as a reminder to all of us to take our Biotin tonight, because who doesn't want those long strands?!?
