The Biggest Hair Transformations Of The 2018 BET Awards

25/06/2018 - 01:00 AM

Considering how the BET Awards of yore [1] have blessed audiences with Kelly Rowland [2]'s auburn highlights back in 2001 and Nicki Minaj's neon orange wig [3] in 2010, it's safe to say you can expect the celebs attending to serve some killer hair looks. The dress code falls somewhere between the Oscars and the Grammy's — so you know every style will be fun, and celebrate all the black girl magic.

And the 2018 ceremony did not disappoint. There was Jamie Foxx [4] hosting, Janelle Monáe performing, and countless protective styles, colourful wigs, and natural hair stealing the show. Check out some of our favourites, ahead.

Logan Browning

Browning has recently been wearing her two-toned faux locs to the side, but tonight the actress gave the look a more classic twist, cleverly wrapping her elastic with a few strands.

Blac Chyna

The only thing cooler than Chyna's bold blue eyeshadow? Her lilac hair — the S-wave style of which complements her two-piece get-up nicely.

Amber Rose

No stranger to attention-grabbing wigs, Rose traded her signature buzzcut look for a platinum, cascading style.

Sevyn Streeter

The singer-songwriter is no stranger to wigs, but Streeter said on the red carpet tonight that her willingness to experiment is partly because she's been growing out her natural texture for the last year. (In fact, she's even wearing a protective style under this booty-grazing wig.)

Lakeith Stanfield

Referencing his killer ponytail wig, the Get Out actor said, "I'm kind of a walking performance piece," he said during a red carpet interview. We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Serayah McNeill

Gone are the days of McNeill's natural curls — and in comes her chic, platinum blond bob (and wispy bangs to boot).
