Fourteen seconds into Cardi B's new music video 'Money,' and you've already got an epic wardrobe change. Then another, just seven seconds later. Then 13 seconds later. Throughout the video, there are a total of eight different looks — each one as fierce as the next — and the only thing more attention-grabbing than the blinged-out lingerie and booty pops is the makeup. You can thank her makeup artist Erika La Pearl for that.

Like the song's name might have you believe, this means the products that went into creating Cardi's bold looks also took some $$$. "For this video, I decided to use one of my favourite brands, Pat McGrath," she told POPSUGAR. La Pearl kindly broke down a few of her favourite moments from the entire shoot for us ahead, and let's just say — she hit every single one of 'em right on the money.

"As always, Cardi's eyes are one of her best features," La Pearl said, which is why she wanted to play them up with a mix of eye shadows, eye liner, and falsies.

Because La Pearl "wanted to go for a super soft look for the piano scene," she reached for lighter makeup shades with softer, more subtle finishes.

"My go-to highlighter is the Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish Highlighter & Balm Duo ($48)," La Pearl said. "I used the balm as a base to give her that good, dewy look and the highlighter for her face and body."

For Cardi's eyes, La Pearl applied her favourite Pat McGrath liquid eyeliner "to give that winged look on the corners" and topped them off with Baddie B Lashes. She then mixed and matched lipsticks — specifically the rosy pink Pat McGrath Labs MatteTrance Lipstick in Peep Show ($38) and sheer Pat McGrath Passion Flower Lip Fetish Lip Balm — to create a subtle lip look.
