I've tried a heck of a lot of crazy products and hacks while hosting POPSUGAR Beauty's weekly Instagram series, First Impression Fri-YAY. And believe me when I tell you, not all of them turn out well. But when it comes to Chaos Makeup's brand-new chrome effect pigments, I was actually blown away. Ahead, watch me test these metallic goodies to create a full rainbow eye look in only two steps โ€” yep, really โ€” then be sure to tune in every Friday for more beauty reviews and follow me on Instagram!

Time to test some makeup!

I hate when makeup doesn't have any colour payoff, but there's no risk of that with these pigments! They change colour based on the angle, so I tried creating a chrome-effect eye look with them.

Chaos Makeup Multi-Chrome Pigments ($18) โ€” I used the Magma ($18) pigment and Rebel Girl ($18).

The colours of each pigment shift in the light, which creates a cool metallic effect.

I started with Magma on the inner half of my lid. The orange and red shades that appear are my favourite!

I also added depth to the look with Rebel Girl on the outer corners of my eyes. It created a full rainbow range!

The finished photo doesn't do the chrome effect of the makeup justice. My eyes looked like a metallic rainbow!

My first impression of these chrome pigments is that they definitely do what they claim โ€” but it's important to use a base! I used Benefit's Stay Don't Stray Eyeshadow Primer ($26) before using the pigments on my eyes.

All in all, they're a win in my book!
