If you haven't heard of Crazy Rich Asians or its lead actress Constance Wu, it's time to get acquainted, because not only is she going to be your new favourite movie star, she's going to be your newest beauty inspiration, too.

At the premiere of the buzzy new movie, she stunned in a Ralph and Russo dress with sleek straight hair, and according to her glam team, she requested a "limousine lash" to finish the look. We have the scoop on exactly what that is and how to re-create it. Wu asked to make her eyelashes one of the main focuses of the look, matching the glitzy theme of the movie, and that's how "limousine lashes" came to life, using an at-home eyelash extension kit.

Makeup artist Molly Greenwald used Lashify (£97), an alternative to eyelash extensions that can be applied at home. Greenwald gave Wu full and fluffy lashes to match the glamorous occasion. To achieve a "natural but lux [sic] look," she used Lashify C14 lashes in the centre of the eye, tapering down on either side with Lashify C12-size lashes. She then used black lash glue to ensure everything stayed in place. This ensured there was no white residue but also doubled up as a trick that "creates more depth toward the root of the lashes."

As for the hair, stylist Derek Yuen kept it sleek to "mirror the gown's clean lines," emphasising the health and shine of Wu's hair. Yuen used Leonor Greyl to style, a top tip being to dip a toothbrush in Leonor Greyl Gel à L'Hibiscus (£27) to smooth flyaways along the hairline. Take a closer look at this and all the details ahead.
