Twitter Thinks KKW Beauty Copied Kylie's Peach Palette, but We're Not So Sure

Twitter can be a fickle mistress, especially when it comes to the beauty community. Whenever a new product is released, it's a wild ride of feelings: first comes excitement, but criticism is bound to follow.

Take, for instance, when people thought Tarte's Toasted Palette looked suspiciously similar [2] to Urban Decay's Naked Heat. Or when some sections of the internet (falsely) accused Huda Beauty of copying Fenty [3] with its release of 30 foundation shades. KKW Beauty is no stranger to such comparisons; from the moment elder sister Kim Kardashian got into the biz, people have accused her of stealing Kylie Jenner's thunder.

Now, some people on Twitter are calling attention to the similarities between Kylie's Peach Palette and Kim's latest collab with her makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic [5]. Here's what folks have to say about this case for the FBI:

While we do have to admit that just like sisters, the palettes look alike, it should be noted that the peach tones, golds, and electric blues found in both options are really trendy hues right now. Plus, Kim's offering skews toward slightly more shimmer finishes, and Kylie, queen of matte lipsticks, has more shine-free base shades in hers. Also, the Kardashian-Jenners are known for their ubiquitous family brand — it makes sense that their tastes might be similar.

At the end of the day, isn't more makeup better for everyone? After all, a beauty-lover has got to have options. Instead of pitting powerful mogul women against each other, let's celebrate the fact that Kim can make $14 million in three hours [18] selling contour kits and Kylie's beauty empire [19] is worth $420 million. You go, girls!
