Easy, Breezy Beauty at Michael Kors
The models on the Michael Kors runway always look breezy and beautiful, and Spring 2014 was no different. Like Michael's past collections, sporty beauty was a common theme in the makeup, hair, and nails. Lead makeup artist Dick Page wanted an effortless makeup look with defined features. "You can sense a brow or a lip or the eyes, but everything's just a little bit diffused," he said. A slight berry flush on the lips and gently defined brows made for an overall healthy, vibrant look.
Lead hairstylist Orlando Pita wanted the girls to look like they'd come off of a night out. A messy, loose bun with plenty of free strands was pretty but had a bit of an edge. And there were no hair elastics in sight; Pita created the knot using just twists and pins. Jin Soon Choi swathed the nails in what she was calling a "foundation nude," a colour so effortless that it blended into each models' individual skin tone.
