Scared of Black Lipstick? Rihanna's New Lip Paint Might Just Change Your Mind
Just when you think Rihanna and Fenty Beauty have given us enough game-changing makeup, they pull out another stop. After celebrating the brand's first birthday with the release of two new diamond-inspired, shimmery products, Rihanna surprised us with a product expansion during "#Stunnaweek." Beginning on Sept. 21, Fenty Beauty dropped four new shades of the brand's Stunna Lip Paint Longwear Fluid Lip Colour. We fell in love with the universal red of the first Stunna shade when it dropped last fall, but these new lip paints rival the first batch.
Among the new shades are Unveil, a rich chocolate brown; Uncuffed, a rosy mauve; Unbutton, a peachy nude; and Uninvited, a bold black. Every colour is as gorgeous as you'd expect from Fenty Beauty, but you don't get much badder than the latter. As Fenty Beauty put it, it's a "bad b*tch black" that's kind of irresistible, even for those of us who have never dared go that dark before. While I personally never thought the day would come when I'd try something so outside my comfort zone, Rihanna makes you do some crazy things, so I decided to give it a try. My initial thoughts? I can see why Fenty Beauty calls Uninvited a bad b*tch black — I really felt like one. There's something about the matte, heavily pigmented formula that brings out the boss in you. You don't have to be bold to wear the lip, but you'll definitely feel like it while you have it on. Uninvited also complemented my new blonde hair so well that I couldn't help but smile (as pictured above). I wouldn't wear the lip on a daily basis, but I could definitely see myself using it for some Halloween fun, or when I'm just feeling particularly audacious.
