We Put Glossier's Boy Brow and Brow Flick Head to Head to See Which One Creates Fuller Brows

16/06/2019 - 10:00 AM

Glossier [1] just added another essential to its family of makeup [2] and skin care [3]. The Brow Flick [4] (£15) is an eyebrow pen with a brush tip. It dispenses a pigmented ink, making it easy to create fuller, more defined brows with just gentle flicks of your wrist.

In case you were wondering how it differs from the existing Boy Brow [5] (£14) — Glossier's eyebrow gel and one of its bestselling products — we've done the research. It's obvious that they are different products, and each one has its strengths and weaknesses. Read on to find out which one will give you your desired look.

Glossier Brow Flick

Glossier's new launch, the Glossier Brow Flick [6] (£15), is a pigmented detailing pen. It has an ultrafine brush tip that dispenses ink at its point.

As I lightly swept the brush between the individual hairs of my eyebrows, I was able to fill in the gaps and patches of my brow that were especially sparse with fine lines. It was easy to maneuver the brush tip to create the appearance of a fuller brow that had a sharp shape and looked completely natural. The water-resistant formula also stayed put all day — even through a surprise rainstorm.

The brow pen is available in three shades: Black, Blonde, and Brown. Though my hair is dark, I opted for the brown shade because of how fine my eyebrows are.

The benefit of using the Glossier Brow Flick is its ability to define the shape of the brow, but it doesn't add any body or volume or "fluff" to the brow (that's where Boy Brow comes in).

Glossier Boy Brow

Glossier Boy Brow [7] (£14) is the brand's OG eyebrow product — a pigmented brow gel that deposits colour (as long as you don't select the transparent shade) and makes it easy to maneuver the hair into the direction you want to place them in. The short spoolie allows you to comb each hair and add "fluff" and volume for a 3D effect.

The benefit of using Boy Brow is its ability to tame any hairs that you feel might be going rogue, but it is difficult to further define its shape. The new product picks up the slack of the OG, and together they are a dynamite team.

Both brow products are available in the Glossier Boy Brow and Brow Flick [8] (£25) set.
