Guys, the Beauty Looks at the Critics' Choice Awards Are SO GOOD This Year

17/01/2018 - 07:25 PM

Red carpet season can seem overwhelming; it feels like every day there's another award show. But don't let that deter you from checking out the hair and makeup at the Critics' Choice Awards, because jeez did everyone look fabulous tonight. From Kate Bosworth [1]'s dramatic red smoky eye to Rachel Brosnahan's hair moment that would make Mrs. Maisel proud, we've found the best beauty looks that swept the blue carpet on Jan. 11.

Rachel Brosnahan

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star channelled the show's 1950s setting with a retro, chestnut-coloured lob featuring soft curls.

Natalia Dyer

We give this Stranger Things [2] star's beauty look an 11 out of 10. She paired bronde hair with contrasting dark roots and a '90s mauve lipstick.

Sarah Hyland

In a move that reminds us of something we would have seen on Audrey Hepburn in the 1950s, Sarah paired a bold red lipstick with a chic ballerina bun that matched her tutu.

Heidi Klum

Heidi's long, surfer-girl strands beg the questions: what supplements is she taking and can we buy a bottle?

Elisabeth Moss

The Handmaid's Tale [3] star wore what is quickly becoming her red carpet staple: butterscotch-blonde hair with a coral-nude lip.

Octavia Spencer

Octavia wore her hair in a soft, curly blowout and rocked berry lipstick.

Emma Roberts

Emma looked totally banging in (possibly faux) fringe. We love the blunt style paired with her cropped cut.

Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse went goth in black-red lipstick and long platinum hair.

Samira Wiley

Samira wore her hair natural and showed off some megawatt bronzer.

Gal Gadot

Gal served Wonder Woman vibes in slicked-back hair and red lipstick.

Betty Gabriel

The Get Out actress wore a decadent shade of cranberry lipstick with retro waves.

Kate Bosworth

Kate's dramatic monochrome look, which featured fiery-red shadow, blush, and lipstick, was a triple-threat beauty win.

Yara Shahidi

Yara's pulled-back hairstyle brought our eyes straight to her gorgeous dewy complexion and nude lip gloss.

Emilia Clarke

Emilia's blonde strands were pulled back in a vintage French twist. She kept things light with a chestnut-nude lipstick.

Makeup: Jillian Dempsey
Key product used: Laura Mercier Velour Extreme Matte Lipstick in Respect [7] (£22) and Laura Mercier Flawless Fusion Ultra-Longwear Foundation [8] (£35)

Olivia Munn

The night's host rocked retro strands and a coral lipstick.

Reese Witherspoon

Reese's look was classically Reese: buttery-blonde strands and a neutral lipstick.

Margot Robbie

The I, Tonya star brought an edgy vibe to the blue carpet with her thick lashes, light brown lipstick, and messy, asymmetric topknot.

Margot Robbie

Another view shows off her bronde brows.

Margot Robbie

Margot topped it all off with the flourish of a black ribbon.

Diane Kruger

Diane's textured cropped cut made her look like a modern-day flapper.

Allison Williams

Allison paired her bohemian gown with ethereally long, slicked-back strands.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica's copper strands will make you want to dye your hair red.

Tiffany Smith

Tiffany's updo showcased her fabulously ruffled collar, and her vibrant pastel smoky eye brought a whimsical touch to the buttoned-up look.

Holly Hunter

Holly Hunter wore a modern, long shag . . . and now we want one, too.

Jaimie Alexander

Jaimie's striking, sweeping updo resembled a faux hawk.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina served classic Angelina vibes: a bold red lipstick and soft updo.

Kaley Cuoco

Kaley wore icy-blonde strands and a matching frosty-pink lipstick.

Haley Bennett

Haley was pretty in pink lipstick and a textured updo.

Allison Janney

Allison's voluminous curls and curtain bangs looked like modern '80s hair, and we were so here for it.

Alexis Bledel

Alexis Bledel paired her Jackie O. blowout with rosy blush and a neutral lip.

Sutton Foster

The Younger star wore her bronde hair in loose curls.

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy paired neutral lipstick with chestnut-blonde strands.

Greta Gerwig

Greta wore her hair slicked back with pink lipstick.

Laura Dern

The Big Little Lies star wore her strands straight and contrasted her blonde hair with dark roots.

Kiernan Shipka

Kiernan's famous eyebrows were on full display, paired with pink blush and lipstick.

Zoe Kazan

The Big Sick star wore a rather Victorian updo with Pinot-coloured lipstick.
