Haircut Trends 2019

These 5 Haircuts Will Be Everywhere in 2019– According to a Celebrity Hairstylist

This year, consider switching up your hair look for a fresh start. We consulted celebrity hairstylist Patrick Kyle, who has styled the hair of Zara Larson, Ellie Kemper, and Rachel Brosnahan, to find out exactly what looks will be huge this year. He took us through five styles — some of them familiar, some of them brand new — that we're now eager to try ourselves. Check them out ahead, and bookmark this page to show your stylist photos of exactly what you want.

Pixie

While you might be hesitant to make the big chop, Kyle definitely suggests it. "The pixie is classic, versatile, chic and easy to style," he said. "Most would not dare but this haircut looks awesome on so many people."

Baby Bangs With a Lob

Kyle suggests that those in the mood for a drastic change should try short or thin bangs like Bettie Page. "If you don't want to make commitment, part your hair in the middle and attach a faux fringe extension and flat iron," he explained.

Long Layers

Don't worry if you're not ready to do more than a light trim. Kyle promised that long layers will still be popular in the new year. "Add extensions for added fullness or to get even longer length," he suggested.

Long Bobs

While lobs have been around for a few years, Kyle promises it isn't going anywhere in 2019. "They're so versatile and easy to style," he said.

'70s Shag

Kyle endorsed the '70s shag style as the ultimate transitional style. "The soft fringe grows out so well and it looks great on any length hair," he explains. "Anyone growing out a bob should opt for this amazing cut, plus you get bangs without the full commitment. When they grow out, you get face framing layers."
