Over the weekend, Halsey posted a sexy Instagram selfie showing off three things: a shoulder tattoo, her robe, and her natural hair. Despite the other parts of the photo that were almost too hot to handle, some fans were very focussed on the latter part of the post, accusing the singer of faking her natural hair texture and of cultural appropriation.
People on the social media platform were quick to come to Halsey's defence, noting that she is biracial and could have curly hair. The singer decided to address the backlash on Twitter, writing, "I can't believe I spent a whole damn year growing out my curls under those wigs for y'all to say my natural hair looks like a wig . . . some fucked up shit lmao."

She then posted another photo of herself as a child wearing the same natural texture she was being criticised for. The caption: "Stay Mad." It's safe to say Halsey has put this matter to rest.
