This New Foundation Covered Up My Dark Spots Better Than My Concealer
Writing about the Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation (£51) is surprisingly difficult. It isn't because there isn't anything to discuss. Rather, I only have one shot to show you how truly transformative it was for my complexion.
I tested the foundation for two weeks. When I first I got my hands on it, I dispensed one quarter-sized dollop onto the back of my hand, picked it up with my makeup sponge, and quickly swept it across my face. In seconds, my complexion was completely rid of the redness, dark spots, and broken capillaries that were plaguing my tired face. The first thing I noticed was that you have to act fast when you're applying this foundation, as it sets quickly once it lands on your skin. The next, and most important, thing I noticed was that it took after its predecessor — the full-coverage, creamy Hourglass Vanish Seamless Foundation Stick (£42) — which was damn good at covering up blemishes without ever getting cake-y. This foundation did the same thing, except with a lightweight liquid texture that dries up to feel like there is absolutely nothing on.
I have many favourites when it comes to what I use to cover up my blemishes and am often swapping them out (I'm a beauty editor, after all), but if I meet a product that can give me the complexion I want in one step, I become wildly dedicated to it. Hourglass Vanish Seamless Finish Liquid Foundation will remain in my rotation forever and ever, or at least, until brand finds a way to top it. That's going to be a challenge.
