Solving the Myth and Confusion Over Red Lipstick
Wearing red lipstick can be daunting. In fact, a recent survey by Halo Wipes revealed that many women in the UK shy away from bold red lips simply because they don't feel brave enough — and as someone who felt the same way just a few months ago, I can only understand. But if 84 percent of us see red lips as a sign of confidence and bravery, why not simply give it a go?
I'll have to admit, I always thought that red lips wouldn't suit me — don't ask me why — and it is only one of many factors that stopped me from even trying. Every time I wandered near a counter, I would swatch dozens of red lipsticks on my hands but would always end up being confused: should I go for a matte, sheer, or glossy finish? Isn't that shade too bright for me? After months of frustration, and in order to solve the myth and confusion over choosing the right red, I asked Beth Margetts, makeup expert from the London MakeUp School, for some help. And guess what? Everyone can wear red lips.
