How to Wear the Cherry Eye Trend

I Challenged Myself to Wear the Cherry Eye Trend, and It's Surprisingly Versatile

After seeing the cherry eye trend all over Instagram, on the makeup shelves at my favourite store, and on celebrities on the red carpet, I was determined to find out how versatile the colour scheme really is on my skin tone. I checked out the reviews on Sephora's online community to choose my pink and purple tools and broke out my brushes to see how many looks I could come up with. I ultimately picked the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Eyeshadow Palette ($49) after noticing it had earned a Sephora Community Seal, for its great reviews, along with a few other palettes (so we sound less biased) that piqued my interest.

Over the course of a few days, I managed to create three different cherry eye looks that I can't get enough of. I'm praying that this juicy trend is here to stay now that I'm a true devotee. Keep scrolling to check out my looks and find out which palettes you can purchase to accomplish the makeup looks.

Pink Shimmer and Cat Eye

Using the Ciaté Glitter Storm Palette ($42), I applied a matte pink shade to my crease and packed on the rose-coloured glitter to the centre of my lid. The look was completed with nude lipstick and a liquid eyeliner.

Monochromatic Berry

I broke out the Urban Decay Naked Cherry Palette ($49) and applied a matte wash of berry-pink to my eyes. I paired lipstick of a similar tone to complete the look.

Smoky Liner

By the third day, I didn't want to spend a long time on my makeup. I applied some liner and used a small angled brush to apply a dark maroon hue from the Too Faced Gingerbread Spice Palette ($49) to my lower lash line and blended out.
