Estée Lauder has just announced their newest spokesmodel to join the ranks alongside Hilary Rhoda, Carolyn Murphy, Liz Hurley, Constance Jablonski and Liu Wen. Joan Smalls, the darkest-skinned model of the bunch hails from Puerto Rico and is part of the next wave of gorgeous women set to diversify the face of this ever-evolving brand.
Joan is the third new Lauder model this year. With Tom Pecheux on staff as the new Creative Makeup Director, and with Constance and Liu on board, it's apparent that the brand is excited about staying relevant and becoming more multicultural than they have been in the past. Aerin Lauder, Senior Vice President, Creative Director of Estée Lauder commented saying,
"Joan’s smile, warmth and positive energy are perfect for the Estée Lauder brand. She is a great addition to our global faces."
Congratulations to Ms. Smalls who has had an amazing 2010. It was in January that she made her modeling debut at the Givenchy F/W 2010 Couture Show in Paris and now she has a coveted cosmetics contract — now that's what I call taking modeling by storm!
