Last year was the year of rocking armpit hair proudly. Whether it was Lady Gaga shunning the razor in a sexy selfie [2] or Gigi Hadid kicking ass and sporting some fuzz in the Love advent calendar [3], celebrities let their pits do their thing. In one final photo of the year [4], Lourdes Leon, Madonna's 21-year-old daughter, gorgeously followed suit.
In the photo above, we can see two things. First: Madonna is not like a regular mum — she's a cool mum. The second takeaway? Along with a bold red lip and absolutely luscious brows, Lourdes's impeccable beauty look included armpit hair. We have just three words for her choice to let it grow: here. for. it.
Many fans chimed in with a similar mindset. "It's just hair!" one wrote. "Women have it . . . You are so beautiful and inspiring!" Another urged trolls to "Celebrate our femininity, not what beauty standards tell us what to do." Can we get a hell yes?
Of course, Lourdes's mother has been an outspoken advocate for feminism and not giving a f*ck about convention for her entire career. As Madonna told us [5] in December 2017, "The thing that makes you feel the most beautiful is when you're happy with yourself, and you're confident, and you've done something good."
