Lucy Boynton Award Season Beauty 2019

Valley of the Dolls? Blondie? Lucy Boynton Proves She's One to Watch This Award Season

If you love the flirty, stylish flair of the late 60's and 70's, you'll appreciate the disco-inspired looks Lucy Boynton is showing off this award season. The actress, who appears in Bohemian Rhapsody alongside her recently-confirmed boyfriend Rami Malek, has stunned in several retro looks that had us feeling like we were watching a scene straight out of Valley of the Dolls, or like she had just left a gig. (We're getting major Debbie Harry vibes, too.)

If there's one thing you can say about Boynton's style, it's that it's consistent. It's a modern take on vintage looks that have bohemian notes included. Her lashes, which appear to be 100 percent real, are not only to die for, but also perfectly defined. (Seriously, give this woman a mascara deal.) We love a bit of whimsy and a well implemented theme, and seeing these looks on a red carpet only makes our job more fun. Check out the gallery for some of our favourite looks — we'll keep updating with makeup and hair details throughout the season.

January 3: The 30th Palm Springs Film Festival

Every year, award season opens with the Palm Springs Film Festival. Makeup artist Jo Baker was inspired by "'80s pink sweets," she said, like "pink wafers and powder pink blancmange." Despite the '80s reference, we are fully convinced Boynton could take on the 1967 classic Valley of the Dolls with ease.

Her hair was styled in a perfectly unkempt girlie bob by stylist Bridget Brager and included a hidden braid in the part.

Seriously, these lashes.

January 6th: The 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards

Leaning into the Bohemian Rhapsody theme, Boynton looks like she could perform at the Grammys — and win a few, too. Makeup artist Jo Baker said this look was inspired by — no shock here — the 70's, by creating a "Bianca Jagger, Jerry Hall-inspired luxe glamour" vibe. She created the look using Chanel.

The textured, lighter-than-air bob was created by stylist Jenny Cho for Suave Beauty.
