We asked celebrity makeup artist Neil Scibelli [2] (who works with Elle Macpherson) to spell out which colours and formulas will be everywhere in the next few months. From colourful graphic liner to sheer berry lips, check out some of the freshest looks of 2019 [3] ahead.
Rich Reds
Throughout the Winter, you can expect to see statement-making lip hues [5] everywhere. "Velvety, bold lipstick formulas will take us through Winter in deep and true red shades," explained Scibelli.
Fresh Hues
Scibelli said that come Spring, the natural look will also be in. "We're going to be seeing a lot more emphasis on enhancing and matching one's own natural lip colour," he explained. "Soft peaches and sheer berry colours will be everywhere, especially in hydrating, tinted formulas."
Cream Blush
"Many of us makeup artists have already ditched powder blush," said Scibelli. "The focus is now on natural, almost glossy skin, and cream formulas really create a glow-from-within kind of look, without looking too heavy or powdery."
Winged Eye Shadow
Another way to get a cat-eye look is by using eye shadow. "We'll be seeing various eye shadow colours in a winged out shape. I personally love creating this look with deep green and charcoal shades," Scibelli said.
Natural Eyebrows
The bold Instagram-ready eyebrows are a thing of the past. "We're moving out of over-filled brows and into finely groomed ones," he explained. "Just fill them in where its needed and finish by combing the brows up with brow gel."
