What happens when blush and a highlighter have a baby? Melt Cosmetics just gave us the answer. Just off the heels of its Aaliyah collection [3] announcement, the brand revealed new, super pretty, and very Summer-friendly [4] creams that you'll want to scoop up in every shade. Here's what you need to know.
Swatches of the new BlushLights, which debuted on Instagram, will stop your scrolling dead in its tracks. The ten shades are a combo of a cream blush and shimmery metallic highlighters. There are three more classic blush colours (a pink, apricot and a mix of the two) that have more of satin finish — and then seven shiny metallics that come in a mix of vibrant shades. In the Instagram post, the brand shared a few tips on how to use.
First you can swipe the powder all over your cheeks as you normally would with blush, or use the highlight to accentuate the high points of your face. While the shades, which include a vibrant mint, lavender, and a ruby red, aren't your typical cheek hues, the hues can be used as toppers over your matte blush if you want to try a colour shifting effect.
These are definitely multi-use, so feel free to get creative. One person commented on the Melt post saying that they'd even try it as an eyeshadow. It's definitely pigmented enough for that! What's even better is that the formula is also cruelty-free.
