It finally arrived! All the months of speculation about who would wear what, and how they'd have their hair and makeup at the Met Costume Institute Gala were resolved last night. This year the theme was American Women and the attending glitterati didn't disappoint, with a host of retro Hollywood waves, classic blowdries and chic updos. Camilla Belle worked a 1930s screen goddess vibe. Sarah Jessica Parker sported a 1970s disco wave. Meanwhile, Brooke Shields rocked an all-American straight blowdry. In makeup terms, the biggest trends were nude lips and smokey eyes (Check out J Lo's version! Wowsa!). Click through to see my favourite beauty looks from the event.
