Michael B. Jordan Fragrance Interview

Michael B. Jordan Says This Scent Reminds Him of a Time He Was “Trying to Get Girls”

Being Michael B. Jordan takes a few key things: talent, good genes, and some reliable grooming products — one of which is cologne. As Coach Fragrances' newest face, Jordan admitted that he had been mulling over memories associated with scents. "Scent to me is like time travel," he told POPSUGAR.

Some smells bring him right back to elementary school, while others remind him of catching buses to Willowbrook or Woodbridge, which are malls he frequented as a teen. No matter the beauty product Jordan uses, he always seems to make them look good (and not vice versa). Check them out, ahead.

Dial Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap

His earliest fragrance memory is pretty relatable. "[It's] probably antibacterial hand soap from elementary school," he said. "I used to love it. In public schools they had that orange antibacterial soap — the Dial one. It brings me back to my childhood."

Coach For Men Eau de Toilette Spray

The Coach Platinum ($95) and For Men ($85) take him back to the times he was "catching a bus to Willowbrook Mall or Woodbridge" to go shopping with his friends. "I spent a lot of time there. I was there with my boys, trying to get girls . . . food court . . . you know, just going through and shopping. It's a familiar smell." It's also one he never travels without.

Coconut Oil For His Hair

On his travels, he not only brings the colognes, but also five essential grooming products: tweezers, a toothbrush, face and hand lotion (the "hotel hand lotion is way too thick," he said), coconut oil (for his hair), most importantly, his retainer. "I'm trying to be good," he said about his aligners, laughing.
