Nicole Farhi Spring 2012
The clothing at Nicole Farhi earlier today was inspired by a Delhi garden and consisted of botanical tones like white, roses, and leafy greens. Some of the pieces were embellished with leather laser-cut flowers or plastic sequins, and all of the looks had a lovely, feminine edge. Charlotte Tilbury was the talent behind the incredible humid makeup style. Backstage, amongst the chaos and excitement, she told me, "The inspiration for this look was a sporty-chic glow with a pop of colour on the lip. Nicole used citrus shades and bright coral in her collection, so I chose a strong matte lip with the juxtaposition of a high-gloss face to create that sporty but cool effect."
The products used on the face were MAC Select Moisture Cover powdered down with Creme Colour Gloss in Pearl on the cheeks, eyelids, and brow bone. No mascara was used, lashes were simply curled and brows were filled in with Fling or Lingering pencil. Additionally, a Creme Colour Base in Seaside contoured the cheekbones. Lips consisted on three Lip Mixes in fuchsia, white, and orange, and two lip pencils in What a Blast and MAC Magenta Pro Pencil. Hair was styled in a midlength ponytail with a chunk wrapped around the base to cover the elastic. I loved this collection; look through these runway shots, and let me know if you do, too!
