Oprah Rocked Purple Hair Because She Can Do No Wrong

Oh, you thought that after the standing ovation Oprah received for her extraordinary Golden Globes speech, the TV icon might take a break? Well, rather than kick back in Cabo, Oprah decided to grace the cover of her magazine — in purple hair, no less!
For the February issue of O, The Oprah Magazine, readers are treated to a cover shot by Ruven Afanador that features the queen of TV rocking many multicoloured wigs and hair accoutrements created by stylist Nicole Mangrum.
In a sneak peek of the cover, you can see Oprah wearing a ponytail made of textured strands in colours such as magenta, coral, and soft pink. Mangrum told the magazine that she created the style using extensions, but if you're not Oprah, you can still re-create it without pricey equipment.
According to the pro, start by parting your hair in the centre and pulling it into a low pony. After applying pomade to keep your hairline looking sleek, wrap the sections of your pony's tail around a half-inch curling iron. Then, "Add an ombré combo of temporary colours." In a video posted to the magazine's Instagram account that gave us a look inside Oprah's glam session, she admitted to digging the rainbow hair look.
"I never thought I was the kind of woman who would do pink hair, but I kind of like it," she said. "The fact that I am now turning to pink hair means the world is changing." Could that change involve Oprah running for president in 2020, as some fans are hoping? Only time will tell, but a rainbow-haired president sounds like a dream come true.
