You may have seen American supermodel Jennifer Pugh smouldering in Eugenico Recuenco’s Film Noir-style ad for Loewe’s fragrance Quizas Quizas Quizas, but chances are you probably haven’t smelt it. Notoriously difficult to locate, it has a rare, seductive quality that, I have to admit, I am kind of reluctant to share since it became my new signature scent. But in the interests of maintaining good karma, I'll let you in on the secret...
Quizas comes in a gorgeous, dark purple glass bottle and has been developed by top perfumers Carlos Benaim and Emilio Valero. They were inspired by the song of the same name, that was made famous by Nat King Cole and pretty much sums up the quintessential coyness of a old-fashioned seductress – "so if you really love me, say yes, but if you don't dear, confess".
The perfume itself, combines red fruits with Italian lemon, Indian and sambac jasmine and rose absolute for a modern, yet musky appeal. Add patchouli, vanilla, amber, sandalwood and lavender honey and you’ve got a beautifully unusual, dreamy scent. I like that it's unusual and distinctive, but of course that means it's not for everyone, and if you prefer fresher scents you'll probably hate it. Quizas' richness has a femme fatale allure that does mean it's best saved for the evening. On a first date, he wouldn't stand a chance.
You won't admit you love me? Of course I will. I heart Loewe – there's no perhaps about it.
