If you've never heard of Scott Barnes, you're about to never forget his name again. The celebrity makeup artist is responsible for the legendary glow Jennifer Lopez [1] is famous for and transforms his clients' faces so much, you might think someone's had work done.
The makeup gods must have heard our prayers, because Barnes teamed up with YouTube personality Tati Westbrook [2] to bring us a makeup tutorial revealing some of Barnes's hacks and secrets for getting a full-coverage, glamorous look that will look just as good as Lopez herself [3]. You Can Use Makeup Products for More Than Their Intended Use
According to Barnes, you can use a makeup product multiple ways. For example, try using a bronzer as an eye shadow or a lipstick as a blush. "When you go to a department store, they load the sale. You need an eye primer, and then you need the eye shadow, and then concealer. . . you're walking away with all these things when you could just get two things and do a whole face with it," he explained.
Contour and Highlight Before Foundation
"I always start with contouring," Barnes explained. "I like to do contouring underneath the makeup so you don't see it."
You're Aiming For "S'natural."
Barnes aims to make his clients look "s'natural" (snatched and natural). "She's pretty, she's natural but a little bit more," he said.

To Make your neck appear skinnier, make a "V" with the middle ending at the centre of your collar bones.
How to Choose a Foundation Shade
Barnes used a lighter shade of foundation on Westbrook than he did for the contour so the definition of the lines he's already placed on the face really stand out.
Why You Should Use Cream Products
Barnes is a huge fan of using cream products, "I love cream. I think cream works primarily better than powder. . . it looks like it's coming from inside the skin."
How to Contour Your Nose
According to Barnes, nose contouring is really where people mess up. "They overcontour and then they drag so much brown into the nose," he told Westbrook. Use less product to ensure this doesn't happen.
How to Blend a Contour
Barnes uses powders with slightly shimmery finishes to blend out his contour, moving in an upward motion.
Don't Forget Your Hands
Make sure that your hands, neck, and body all match your face.
How to Hide Dark Under Eye Circles
Barnes uses a powder with subtle pink shimmer below Westbrook's eyes. "What that does is that is cancels out any sort of bluey purpley stuff underneath the eye," he said in the tutorial.
Where to Apply Highlighter
Barnes applied highlighter to Westbrook's brow bones, cheekbones, and her chest and shoulders.
How to Use Lip Gloss to Make Your Lips Look Fuller
If you place the gloss on the top lip on the very outer edge, they'll look fuller.
How to Over Line Your Lips
Use a lip liner to connect the two peaks of your lip and fill in to look like you have fuller lips.
