"Apple cider vinegar is my do-it-all," Mitchell said. "I'll use it to clean and I'll also put it in my water with a lemon. I've used it before on blemishes, but honestly, only when I've needed to get creative. It's a lot safer to use proper skincare products than to put household ingredients on your skin. But it is great for cleaning your house."

Two words: coconut oil. "My mum and her sisters' hair and skin has always been amazing, and that's all they used," she said. "Now I use it everywhere — sometimes I'll do a DIY coconut oil hair mask or I'll put it on my skin and just sit in the sauna to let it sink in."
